Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager  Environmental Remediation for employment in our Omaha, NE office. This position will support the Environmental business line, primarily overseeing Federal environmental remediation projects.  For the right candidate, this position may be remote.

Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management
  • Manages and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects
  • Leads teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices
  • Utilizes existing technologies and experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems
  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance
  • Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking
  • Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager
  • Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies
  • Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team
  • Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work
  • Conducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued improvement
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Geology, Engineering, or related field with + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid US Drivers License
  • Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional License (PE, PG, PMP, CHMM, or similar)
  • 10+ years’ experience in environmental remediation (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, PFAS, munitions) project management
  • Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations
  • Experience successfully managing environmental projects for Federal clients (USACE, AFCEC, Navy)
  • Thorough working knowledge of RCRA and CERCLA
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills
  • Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery
  • Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences
  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders
  • Interest in business development
  • Have led teams of professionals in executing Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessment, Treatability Studies, Remedial Design, and Remedial Action Construction, in support of Federal environmental projects
  • Occasional overnight travel required
