Compensation:

The base salary for this role ranges between $60,100 - $111,600, with eligibility for an incentive target of  5 which is contingent upon achieving both individual and company performance objectives.

The pay range above is not a guarantee of compensation but reflects the potential total compensation for this role at the time of this posting based on the assigned job grade.  Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as geographic work location, relevant experience and individual skills.  The stated range is a reasonable estimate and may change over time; final compensation may fall above or below the range provided.  Grainger reserves the right to amend, modify, or discontinue its compensation and benefits programs at any time, in accordance with applicable law.

Position Details: 

Working closely with the Market Manager, the incumbent is responsible for leading a team and is accountable for all on-site services within a specific geography or customer. Additionally, ensures execution of the on-site services activities through demonstrated leadership in the areas of talent excellence, customer service, sales growth and cost to serve. 

Become the customer's first choice for the products and services they need to keep their workplaces safe, efficient, and functioning by leading the district efforts for assigned KeepStock (Grainger's vendor managed inventory solution) engagements and on site customer service activities. Build strong partnerships to facilitate success, which will allow Grainger to effectively extend our reach into our customer's locations and provide superior service.  

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

KeepStock Management/Leadership: 

  • Manage a team of 10 to 15 Onsite Service Representatives/Specialists across a large and remote geography who maintain inventory at customer sites. 

  • Manage the channel of profitability, expense/sales ratio, supporting KPI's and quality control of customer programs. 

  • Partner with Sales, DC, Branch and transportation networks to further profitability, growth and operational targets for the organizational goals. 

  • Implement Leader Plan which includes assessing and prioritizing, coaching, training and hiring top talent. 

  • Promote strong team member engagement and support team member development. 

  • Participate in development and continuous improvement projects, tasks and training to support the growth of the channel, Center of Excellence partnerships and organization. 

Financial Performance/Resource Management: 

  • Manage optimization and operation of customer programs for efficiency and profitability across the team member territory within the assigned region. 

  • Manage the resources required for new customer installations to be on time and within budget. 

  • Understand market conditions and trends and customer requirements to provide appropriate direction and guidance to the broader organization. 

  • Ensure the right solutions and resources are being offered/deployed to customers. 

  • Ensure optimal customer survey satisfaction levels. 

 
Business Partnerships to influence Growth: 

  • Partner with internal Grainger teams to provide KeepStock expertise to develop a tailored strategy that supports our customers' business pressures and goals. 

  • Be a business steward by understanding how Sales and Service teams collaborate to drive profitable revenue growth and improve service levels. 

 
Required Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience. 

  • 5+ years of retail, manufacturing or industrial business. 

  • 2+ years' experience in supervising and managing people in a KPI driven environment with an emphasis on training and development  

  • Extensive travel is required 50%+ travel to various customer sites throughout the territory. 

  • Experience in financial accountability. 

  • Experience leading in a matrixed environment. 

  • Experience in building and working effectively within different teams. 

  • Strength in process improvement, ownership and control and project management. 

  • Experience leading and working towards goals with a remote team. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 

  • Background checks, drug screening may be required (as warranted by Company, customer requirements in working on-site and operating equipment). 

  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license in province of residence. 

  • May be required to use a personal vehicle for transportation with valid insurance which meet's Grainger's standards. 

This role may require you to attend customers' sites and adhere to safety requirements in accordance with applicable health and safety legislation, as it relates to wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) on certain customer sites. This may include: a hard hat; steel-toed safety boots, clean shaven or trimmed moustache/beard in order to wear a close-fitted N95 mask or other required PPE. Details of these requirements will be provided during the recruitment process.  

Some customers may have alcohol and drug screening policies for on-site contractors and vendors. You may be required to submit to such customer screening procedures as and when requested as a condition of being permitted on such sites.
