Position Overview

Ascension Psychotherapy Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our remote team on a full-time basis. In this pivotal role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care, including individualized therapy sessions and collaborative treatment planning. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine clients' mental health needs, including diagnostic assessments using established clinical tools.
  • Provide personalized one-on-one therapy sessions, utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and other evidence-based practices to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders.
  • Facilitate engaging group therapy session, focusing on psychoeducation and support to empower clients while fostering community and shared learning.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, setting measurable goals and interventions tailored to each client’s specific circumstances.
  • Provide crisis intervention support, utilizing active listening and therapeutic de-escalation techniques to address immediate client needs while conducting risk assessments and coordinating safety plans.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, attending workshops and training to stay abreast of current best practices and regulatory changes in mental health care.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure a cohesive approach in client treatment and support.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with adults who present with a diverse range of mental health challenges, from mood disorders to trauma-related conditions. This role requires an understanding of the unique factors contributing to mental health issues within the Saint Petersburg community, allowing for culturally inclusive and empathetic care. You will also work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including family members and other health professionals, to facilitate holistic support for clients.

Qualifications
  • A master’s degree or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current licensure as a mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida is mandatory.
