The 50+ person growing studio is seeking a Senior Designer with healthcare experience to join their growing collaborative firm!

Mid-size Los Angeles Architecture + Interiors studio has received acclaim for its award-winning healthcare designs for clients including Kaiser Permanente, UCLA, UCI, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. From landmark medical campuses to intimate imaging suites, the studio designs exceptional environments that promote healing while meeting the healthcare industry's planning, efficiency and technical demands. Their studio's architectural ingenuity, technical expertise, and attention to detail consistently place their projects at the forefront of cutting-edge design. (Note: Opportunity for fully remote available with occasional travel to job sites & critical meetings. Candidates must reside in Southern California.)

Overall Responsibilities

  • Leads the development of design and plays a key role in architectural project problem‑solving and delivery.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Lead the development, design documentation, and coordination of project deliverables across all phases.

  • Produce and oversee sketches, 3D renderings, and animations using various design software, ensuring a high level of design quality.

  • Take primary responsibility for architectural assignments and provide direction and feedback on designs developed by others.

  • Analyze complex building and spatial concepts in both 2D and 3D, translating them into comprehensive plans, elevations, sections, and perspective views.

  • Drive the design process, detailed design development, project coordination, and quality assurance at every stage.

  • Help develop, refine, and implement architectural graphic standards and best practices for the team.

  • Lead and participate in internal meetings to coordinate design specifications, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project goals and drawings.

  • Mentor junior staff, delegate tasks appropriately, and contribute to overall project and studio success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of professional architectural experience

  • Acute healthcare experience required

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead work independently while coordinating with broader teams.

  • Highly responsive and dependable, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to present and defend design ideas.

  • Advanced knowledge of architectural graphic standards and building systems.

  • Expert Revit skills; proficiency with additional visualization and design tools is a plus.
