Roles & Responsibilities:

Architecture & Solution Design

  • Assess the current application architecture and identify performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability challenges.
  • Design a target-state architecture that supports growth from 380+ users to 580+ users and beyond.
  • Define application, data, integration, and security architecture patterns aligned with healthcare best practices.
  • Establish scalability strategies including horizontal scaling, caching, asynchronous processing, and database optimization.
  • Design solutions that maintain high availability and resiliency for critical patient care workflows.

Healthcare Interoperability

  • Lead the architecture and implementation of FHIR-based integrations.
  • Design scalable healthcare data exchange mechanisms using HL7 FHIR APIs.
  • Integrate with EHR/EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks, Epic, Cerner, Athena, or equivalent healthcare platforms.
  • Ensure healthcare regulatory compliance including HIPAA and healthcare data security requirements.

Performance Engineering

  • Conduct architecture reviews and performance assessments of existing applications.

Identify bottlenecks across:

  • Angular UI
  • .NET APIs
  • SQL Server database
  • Integration services
  • Infrastructure components

Define performance tuning strategies for:

  • API response times
  • Database queries
  • Search operations
  • Reporting workloads
  • Concurrent user handling
  • Create performance benchmarks, capacity planning models, and growth forecasts.

Platform Modernization

  • Define modernization roadmaps for legacy components.
  • Recommend cloud-native and microservices adoption where appropriate.
  • Drive implementation of event-driven and loosely coupled architectures.
  • Introduce observability, monitoring, logging, and telemetry frameworks.

Technical Leadership

  • Work closely with Product Owners, Delivery Leaders, Engineers, and Business Stakeholders.
  • Mentor development teams on architecture best practices and coding standards.
  • Conduct architecture governance reviews.
  • Drive security, reliability, and quality initiatives throughout the SDLC.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years as a Solution Architect or Technical Architect.
  • Experience architecting large-scale healthcare platforms.
  • Proven experience scaling enterprise applications supporting hundreds to thousands of concurrent users.

  • Familiarity with CQRS, Event Sourcing, and Domain-Driven Design.
  • Experience performing application Well-Architected Reviews.
  • Experience with Azure Architecture Center and Microsoft Well-Architected Framework.
