About The Role

As the Mortgage Loan Originator, you will build relationships within the community and guide members through the mortgage process with expert advice and personalized service. What You'll Do

  • Originate and process mortgage loan applications by interviewing applicants and analyzing financial information.
  • Educate members on mortgage products and services, ensuring alignment with their financial needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the community, especially with real estate professionals, to attract new mortgage business.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders such as appraisers, title officers, and underwriters to ensure smooth loan processing.
  • Attend community events to promote mortgage products and represent the credit union.
  • Provide exceptional member service by resolving inquiries and identifying opportunities for cross-selling products.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, including the SAFE Act and Bank Secrecy Act.

Is This You?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Professionalism in conduct, communication, and appearance
  • Team player with a positive attitude and flexibility
  • Proficiency in basic computer operation
  • Travel to offsite business locations required
  • Ability to be bonded and registered under the SAFE Act
  • Preferred But Not Required: College degree (or completion of equivalent training or apprentice program) and mortgage lending experience
