  • Engage with insurance companies to follow up on unpaid insurance accounts, leveraging aging reports.
  • Identify and report trends and issues related to billing and reimbursements to your Supervisor.
  • Process appeals independently and handle billing calls and questions from patients and third-party carriers.
  • Analyze and interpret claims to ensure accuracy in submissions to insurance companies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers through phone calls and written communications.
  • Research and document account activity, posting adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect medical office operations by keeping patient information confidential.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in a business, medical or technical environment.
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting and/or experience with an Electronic Medical Record is a plus.
  • Customer service driven.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and insurance laws/guidelines.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to learn quickly, build and maintain long-term relationships and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical, organizational and time management skills required.
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and decision-making responsibilities.
