Job description

Evergreen Legal is a social impact boutique law firm that works at the intersection of law, policy, and communications, in collaboration with its sister organization, Evergreen Strategy Group. Evergreen Legal is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate with experience in litigation and legal writing.ย 

As part of the Evergreen team, you will help craft legal strategies and litigate on some of the most pressing issues, including gun violence prevention, election integrity, and anti-corruption.

Job responsibilities include:
  • Litigation: Develop new litigation ideas and support the day-to-day in ongoing litigation, including via research and drafting, communicating with clients, and coordinating with co-counsel.ย 

  • Legal & Regulatory Strategy: Help to develop legal strategies that advance our clients' policy objectives across a range of issue areas. Draft legal content such as regulatory comments, legal fact sheets, legal memorandum, and issue briefs.ย 

  • Substantive Expertise: Closely follow legal and policy developments, political news, and industry trends. Must have demonstrated experience in mastering new issue areas quickly.

  • Client relations: Coordinate with clients as needed and help cultivate Evergreen Legal's relationships with our external partners.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar membership required. Membership in the D.C. bar, or ability to become a member, required.ย 

  • A minimum of two years of legal experience. Federal clerkship preferred but not required.ย 

  • Litigation experience strongly preferred; understanding of constitutional law and administrative law preferred but not required.

  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and editing skills, with a track record of producing high-quality legal documents.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to quickly translate legal complexity for diverse audiences.

  • Ability to think creatively to address complex issues.

For an Associate or Senior Associate position, Evergreen Legal offers a base salary ranging from $110,000 - $135,000, in addition to a generous commission and bonus package and our industry-leading 401K matching program, health plan, and PTO policy. Title and base salary are based on years and relevancy of experience.ย This is a remote-first position.
