We're actively seeking a talented AVP Actuary, Annuity Pricing to join our Annuity Product Development team in Newport Beach, CA, Omaha, NE, or Charlotte, NC. This role follows a hybrid schedule of four days in the office (on-site). If you are not currently located near one of our offices, we offer comprehensive relocation assistance. Remote candidates will be considered depending on experience.

As an AVP Actuary, Annuity Pricing, you will co-lead pricing and product strategy initiatives for our annuity business, delivering retirement solutions to our clients. In this role, you will evaluate market opportunities, identify risks, and assess the profitability of new and existing offerings within the Consumer Markets Division's annuity portfolio. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the annuity landscape and end-to-end product lifecycle, including pricing, filing, and launch activities. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach will help a candidate stand out.

You will lead a team of pricing actuaries, develop innovative solutions that address evolving customer and market needs, and ensure offerings achieve an appropriate balance of customer value, profitability, and risk management. In addition, you will guide initiatives through the Product and Risk Governance processes.

How you'll help move us forward:

  • Lead and develop a team of pricing actuaries to assess product opportunities in a rapidly changing economic, regulatory, and competitive environment

  • Actively engage in the development of new products and the enhancement of existing products

  • Evaluate and enhance the annuity pricing framework, with focus on enabling understanding of multiple accounting regimes and pricing metrics

  • Design products with an eye on adaptability to changing competitive, regulatory, and economic environments

  • Secure product approvals through pricing and risk committees

  • Lead product filing efforts in conjunction with our Compliance team

  • Create transparency within the division and enterprise around pricing results, including methodologies and assumptions used and sensitivity testing

  • Collaborate with Risk Management and Finance to identify risk management tools to manage our product suite, and appropriately incorporate into pricing

  • Champion innovation and modernization initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies, including AI and advanced analytics, to enhance pricing capabilities, streamline processes, improve team productivity, and accelerate speed to market.

The experience you bring:

  • 10+ years of actuarial experience

  • FSA designation, including 3 years of actuarial experience post FSA designation

  • Deep knowledge of annuity products, product features, pricing methodologies, and market dynamics, with the ability to identify emerging opportunities and develop innovative product solutions

  • Experience leading products through the full product development lifecycle, including pricing, risk assessment, governance, regulatory filing, implementation, and launch

  • Strong financial acumen, including expertise in Statutory, GAAP, and economic reporting frameworks, capital markets, and the ability to evaluate and communicate key drivers of profitability, risk, and value creation

  • Proven people leadership experience with a track record of coaching, developing, and mentoring actuarial talent while building a high-performing, collaborative team environment

  • Strong technical and analytical capabilities, including the ability to solve complex business problems and translate actuarial insights into actionable recommendations

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility across the enterprise and effectively engage leaders across Product, Sales, Risk Management, Finance, and Investments

  • Demonstrated strategic mindset with the ability to establish a long-term vision, drive change, challenge the status quo, and execute against evolving business priorities

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple initiatives while adapting to changing market conditions and organizational needs

Salary Range: $230,000 - $255,000
