Help Shape the Future of Neuroscience

Are you passionate about advancing neuroscience and bringing life-changing medical technologies to market? Zing is seeking an experienced Research Principal Scientist to lead innovative research supporting next-generation stereotactic technologies used in neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, and neuro-endoscopy.

This is a high-impact opportunity to collaborate with scientists, engineers, clinicians, and regulatory experts while driving research that directly influences groundbreaking medical devices.

What You'll Do
  • Lead scientific research supporting neuro-oncology, neurosurgery, neuro-endoscopy, and stereotactic technologies.
  • Develop research strategies, study protocols, technical reports, and biological safety risk assessments.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for biological evaluations and ISO 10993 compliance.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee laboratory studies and preclinical research activities.
  • Conduct biocompatibility assessments and determine appropriate biological safety testing strategies.
  • Support regulatory submissions with scientific documentation and technical justifications.
  • Present research findings to internal leadership, regulatory bodies, and external scientific partners.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Engineering teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, research laboratories, CROs, suppliers, and strategic partners.
  • Provide scientific expertise throughout the product development lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
  • Master's degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Science, Biology, Toxicology, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline required.
  • PhD or DVM preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree with significant directly related experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of medical device R&D experience focused on biological safety, risk assessment, or related scientific research.
  • Experience with ISO 10993 biological evaluations and biological safety risk assessments.
  • 3 to 5 years of neuroscience, tissue histology, or related preclinical research experience.
  • Hands-on experience with preclinical in vivo research, including large animal studies.
  • Experience supporting regulated medical device development.
  • Proven project management and cross-functional leadership experience.
  • Excellent scientific writing, presentation, and communication skills.
