How does collaboration typically work for a Remote Analog IC Design Engineer, and what tools are commonly used to stay connected with the team?

As a Remote Analog IC Design Engineer, effective collaboration is achieved through regular virtual meetings, design reviews, and shared project management platforms. Teams typically use tools like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Slack for communication, and specialized design software such as Cadence or Synopsys for sharing and reviewing circuit designs. Staying proactive in communication and documenting progress clearly is essential, as remote teams rely heavily on digital updates and collaborative platforms to ensure alignment and project success. Despite the remote setup, engineers often engage in real-time troubleshooting and brainstorming sessions with colleagues to address design challenges efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Analog IC Design Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Analog IC Design Engineer, you need a strong background in electrical engineering, analog circuit design, and a relevant degree, often at the bachelor's or master's level. Proficiency with EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, SPICE simulation, and familiarity with semiconductor fabrication processes is essential. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective remote communication distinguish successful engineers in this role. These skills ensure reliable, innovative circuit designs and seamless collaboration across distributed engineering teams.

What are Remote Analog IC Design Engineers?

Remote Analog IC Design Engineers are professionals who design and develop analog integrated circuits (ICs) such as amplifiers, data converters, voltage regulators, and other analog components while working from a location outside of a traditional office setting. They use specialized electronic design automation (EDA) tools to create, simulate, and verify circuit designs, often collaborating with global teams through online communication platforms. Their work is critical in industries like telecommunications, automotive, medical devices, and consumer electronics, where analog signals and precision circuitry are essential. Remote positions allow these engineers to contribute expertise without being restricted by geographic location.

From mission-critical national security applications to high-growth commercial constellations, our proven computing platforms deliver the performance, reliability, and flexibility needed to unlock new capability in orbit. Selected by the worldโ€™s leading satellite operators,โ€ฏRamon.Spaceโ€ฏis defining howโ€ฏthe industryโ€ฏbuilds, deploys, and evolves digital missions in space.โ€ฏย

We are a global team of 100+ employees across the US, United Kingdom, and Israel. If you are looking to make an impact, come and join our team.โ€ฏย

Ramon.Space is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analog & Power Engineer with extensive experience in analog circuit design and power electronics for space applications. This role focuses on designing robust, high-efficiency power delivery and analog front-end solutions for advanced spaceborne computing systems. If you are great at what you do, enjoy working in a startup-like environment, and are passionate about developing reliable, high-performance electronics for space, we want to hear from you.ย

What you will be doingย

  • Lead the design and development of analog and power subsystems across all product lifecycle stages: from requirements definition through design, bring-up, qualification, and release.ย
  • Architect and design power distribution networks, including DC-DC converters, point-of-load regulators, sequencing, and protection circuits for space applications.ย
  • Perform detailed analog and power analysis, including stability, efficiency, thermal performance, worst-case circuit analysis, and derating.ย
  • Drive component selection and validation for high-reliability and radiation-tolerant environments.ย
  • Define and validate power integrity and noise performance, ensuring compliance with system-level requirements.ย
  • Develop test plans and execute hands-on bring-up, validation, and debugging of analog and power hardware.ย
  • Collaborate closely with digital, RF, mechanical, and system engineers to ensure robust cross-domain integration.ย
  • Support environmental and qualification testing (thermal vacuum, vibration, radiation) and correlate results with design expectations.ย
  • Present technical content in design reviews and contribute to peer design evaluations.ย

Requirementsย

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.ย
  • 7+ years of experience in analog and power electronics design, preferably in space or high-reliability applications.ย
  • Strong expertise in power supply design (GaN Technology for Power, DC-DC converters, LDOs, power distribution, sequencing, and protection circuits).ย
  • Solid background in analog circuit design for command and telemetry as well as signal conditioning, filtering, sensing, and control loops.ย
  • Experience performing worst-case circuit analysis, stability analysis, and thermal considerations.ย
  • Familiarity with power integrity, noise analysis, and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.ย
  • Experience designing for high-reliability or space environments, including derating and component selection.ย
  • Proficiency with schematic and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer).ย
