Job description

Job Location: Fully remote. Candidates must reside and work within the United States.
Job Overview:
As a Senior Marketing Content Specialist, you will help develop and lead content strategies across the content team, with a strong focus on performance-driven content that supports demand generation, lead capture, and channel optimization. This role involves overseeing project planning, development, and execution of content programs focusing on lead generation, research, customer insights, brand awareness, and content performance across digital channels (SEO, paid media, email, and social).
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Digital Marketing Specialist, Content is responsible for partnering with the Sr. Manager, Institutional Growth and Demand to develop and execute comprehensive content strategies that align with our brand's objectives and target audiences. They will possess a strategic vision and a data-driven approach that will amplify our content's impact and drive overall business growth.
  • Collaborate with the broader marketing (PMM and Growth and Demand) team to develop and refine content strategies based on performance insights, search intent, audience targeting data, and funnel metrics.
  • Leverage SEO and paid media insights to inform content topics, formats, messaging, and prioritization throughout the customer journey.
  • Partner with the Web Strategist to align content strategy with website architecture, navigation, and user experience best practices.
  • Support the development of content frameworks and page-level strategies for key conversion and engagement pages.

Content Performance & Optimization
  • Partner with SEO and paid media stakeholders to evaluate content performance and identify opportunities for optimization across channels.
  • Monitor and optimize on-site content performance (engagement, conversion rates, bounce rates) in partnership with web and analytics stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for content improvements based on user behavior, heatmaps, and site performance data.
  • Translate audience, keyword, and campaign insights into actionable content briefs and updates.
  • Support testing and iteration of content to improve engagement, conversion, and lead quality.

Content Development
Stay on top of education technology trending topics and audience search behavior to support the development of literacy, math, and science content that speaks to classroom educators, administrators, and curriculum leaders as they travel through the customer journey.
  • Work with marketing team members to ensure messaging consistency and alignment between content strategy and acquisition channels across all public-facing marketing applications.

Content Writing
This role balances hands-on content creation with strategic oversight, editing, and content direction in partnership with channel owners.
  • Contribute to briefs and outlines informed by SEO, paid media, and audience insights
  • Develop content marketing deliverables such as ad copy, landing pages, content articles, and more
  • Write, edit, proof, and collaborate with the ExploreK12 creative team to produce digital collateral

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 3+ years of proven experience creating and editing content for publication, or digital marketing roles with demonstrated involvement in content development, optimization, or messaging
  • Strong project management skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience working within a collaborative and cross-functional team environment
  • Experience using digital performance insights (e.g., SEO, paid media, or campaign reporting) to inform content decisions preferred
