Job description

Position Overview

Citrus Psychotherapy Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote team in Tucson, Arizona. As a full-time counselor, you will provide essential mental health services, leveraging telehealth technologies to reach clients in a supportive and flexible environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding individuals and families towards improved mental well-being and recovery.

About the Organization

Citrus Psychotherapy Center is a comprehensive mental health practice that prioritizes the emotional and psychological health of our clients. Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and healing space for individuals seeking support through telehealth modalities. We believe in integrating the latest methodologies in psychotherapy with a compassionate approach to care, offering a variety of therapeutic services tailored to our clients' unique needs.

Work Environment

As a telehealth-focused organization, our counselors work in a fully remote setting, allowing for flexibility and comfort in client interactions. This approach not only connects you with a diverse clientele across various demographics but also enables you to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Our team contributes to a collaborative virtual environment, fostering peer-to-peer support and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, interacting with clients via video calls to assess emotional, behavioral, and psychological health.
  • Document all assessments and case progress meticulously in electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, ensuring compliance with our clinic's standards and state regulations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on thorough evaluations and evidence-based practices, addressing various mental health disorders and personal circumstances.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing therapeutic techniques to foster discussion, healing, and personal growth.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate clients' progress, adjusting treatment strategies as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and social workers, to create holistic intervention plans and ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Assist in the navigation of referrals, empowering clients to access additional resources and services as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to family members and caregivers, helping them understand and manage mental health challenges faced by loved ones.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will involve a diverse client base, including individuals coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges. Within our telehealth model, we reach vulnerable populations who may benefit from accessible mental health services in their own environments. Your role is crucial in creating an atmosphere of acceptance and trust that encourages clients to engage actively in their recovery journey.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Arizona.
  • Successful completion and scoring of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Strong understanding of electronic health record management, particularly with systems like AVATAR.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with clients and collaborate with professionals across disciplines.
  • Empathy, patience, and an unwavering commitment to supporting clients on their paths to recovery.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience as a mental health counselor providing telehealth services is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Experience working with clients who have complex emotional and physical health conditions, including addiction disorders.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmacotherapy and its implications for mental health.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers an annual salary range of $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, new hires will receive a sign-on bonus that underscores our commitment to attracting top talent. The organization provides a comprehensive healthcare benefits package and a retirement savings plan with employer contributions, ensuring your well-being both now and in the future.

Generous paid time off (PTO) allows you to recharge, and we support your continued education as well as professional development opportunities tailored to your career path.
