THE POSITION

NOTE: This posting will close on JUNE 6, 2026 or after 50 applications are received, whichever occurs first.
Start a meaningful career with the Department of Transportation, Beaver Falls Call Center as a Customer Service Representative. This position allows you to assist customers with a wide range of questions about licensing, registration, and other key services. You will gain confidence in problem solving while supporting the needs of the public. Become part of a team dedicated to courteous, accurate and helpful communication.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on helping customers by providing clear and accurate information about driver and vehicle services. The role supports public needs by answering questions, solving problems and offering guidance. As a Customer Service Representative, you will perform the following duties:

  • Customer Support: Respond to inquiries about driver and vehicle services by using approved reference materials
  • Information Clarity: Explain complex information in simple terms to help customers understand requirements
  • Decision Making: Assess customer questions and determine the most appropriate steps to resolve issues
  • Record Handling: Prepare correspondence and process updates to customer records when needed
  • Issue Identification: Recognize potential system or communication issues and notify supervisors
  • Professional Conduct: Maintain a courteous and respectful approach that reflects customer service standards

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • This position may be required to work during office closure
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Beaver Falls. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be willing and able to travel to Harrisburg for a minimum of 6 weeks for training and orientation (paid travel expenses)
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience using a PC or laptop
  • Experience using Microsoft computer applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience effectively communicating orally and in writing
  • Experience working in a call center
  • Experience with customer service
  • Bilingual
