Job description

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are seeking a Healthcare & Life Sciences (HCLS) Solutions Architect to join our HCLS organization within AWS Industries. In this role, you will help deliver our strategy for global HCLS customers and partners, working alongside some of the world's largest healthcare and life sciences companies to design cloud architectures that address their industry-specific business challenges and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
As a Solutions Architect, you will help customers succeed using AWS technologies - linking technology with measurable business value for healthcare and life sciences organizations. You will bring technical depth and curiosity, with the ability to participate in architecture discussions and clearly communicate the value of the AWS platform to both technical and business audiences.
You will help design scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures, assist customers in understanding best practices around cloud-based solutions, and support workload migration efforts

You will have the opportunity to build prototypes, contribute to cloud-native reference architectures, and explore use cases across Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Serverless and Container-based architectures, Analytics, and Security. You will collaborate with account management, professional services, support, product teams, and the AWS partner ecosystem to drive AWS adoption within your assigned customers.
Key job responsibilities
- Support the building and migration of applications, software, and services on the AWS platform for HCLS customers
- Partner with the account management team to help execute customer engagement strategies
- Build prototypes, proofs of concept, and demonstration assets that showcase AWS capabilities - particularly in AI/ML, Generative AI, and data analytics - tailored to healthcare and life sciences use cases
- Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of emerging AI/ML technologies and cloud-native patterns, and apply that knowledge to customer engagements
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS
- Build strong technical relationships with customer counterparts to support their cloud adoption journey
- Contribute best-practice knowledge to the AWS Solutions Architect community
- Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers, blog posts, and reference architectures
- Serve as a technical point of contact between customers and AWS service and support teams
A day in the life
Your morning starts with a customer call - whiteboarding a cloud migration strategy for a global pharma company. Mid-morning, you're building a Generative AI prototype that shows how a life sciences customer could accelerate drug discovery

After lunch, you join an architecture review with the account team, then lead a hands-on workshop walking a hospital system through HIPAA-compliant deployments on AWS. Between meetings, you're sketching a reference architecture for a new ML pipeline, trading ideas with fellow SAs in Slack, and jotting down notes for a whitepaper. No two days look the same.
