It emphasizes flexibility and the use of digital systems for real-time coordination.

What is a Remote Airport Operations Control Center?

A Remote Airport Operations Control Center (AOCC) is a centralized facility where airport operations are monitored and managed using advanced technology, often from a location away from the airport itself. Staff at a remote AOCC oversee flight movements, ground operations, security, and other airport activities using real-time data, cameras, and communication systems. This setup allows for more efficient coordination and response to incidents, potentially reducing costs and improving overall airport performance. Remote AOCCs are increasingly used to streamline operations, particularly at smaller or regional airports.
