Job description

We are looking for an Operations Control Center Supervisor for a Energy Solutions client in Bloomington, Minnesota. This person will provide real-time leadership and operational oversight for a 24/7 Operations Control Center supporting renewable energy assets. This role supervises Control Center Operators, manages shift operations, monitors and controls generation assets through SCADA systems, and ensures compliance with NERC, FERC, and customer requirements while maximizing asset performance and reliability.


Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and supervise Operations Control Center Operators in a 24/7 environment.
  • Manage shift schedules, provide technical guidance, and support operator training, performance, and development.
  • Monitor and control renewable energy assets using SCADA systems to optimize power generation and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate electrical switching activities and adjust plant controls to meet utility, ISO/RTO, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor equipment performance, weather data, telemetry, and system health while maintaining accurate operational logs.
  • Ensure compliance with NERC, FERC, safety standards, contractual obligations, and company operating procedures.
  • Lead operational response during plant events, outages, and emergencies by prioritizing issues and coordinating with maintenance teams.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, troubleshoot system performance issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with commissioning, testing, and onboarding of new renewable energy projects.
  • Provide on-call support and maintain flexibility to cover alternate shifts as required.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent military or leadership experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in a 24/7 operations environment such as power generation, utilities, or industrial operations.
  • Current NERC Balancing and Interchange Certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong knowledge of SCADA systems, industrial communication systems, and power plant operations.
  • Familiarity with NERC, FERC, ISO/RTO, and utility operating requirements.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills in an operational environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and industrial control systems.


Salary of $105-120k annually + benefits
