How much do remote ai robotics jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 23, 2026, the average yearly pay for remote ai robotics in the United States is $96,000.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $90,000.00 and $102,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in remote AI robotics roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in remote AI robotics roles often face challenges such as effective communication with distributed teams, managing hardware remotely, and ensuring reliable data transmission between systems. Overcoming these challenges typically involves adopting robust collaboration tools, implementing clear documentation practices, and using remote monitoring software to manage and troubleshoot robotic systems. Regular virtual meetings and clear protocols also help maintain alignment and productivity, while ongoing training ensures team members stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in both AI and robotics.

What is a Remote AI Robotics job?

A Remote AI Robotics job involves working with artificial intelligence and robotics technologies from a remote location, rather than on-site. Professionals in this field design, develop, program, and manage robotic systems that use AI to perform tasks autonomously or semi-autonomously. These roles often require expertise in machine learning, computer vision, robotics engineering, and software development. Remote positions allow for collaboration with teams and clients across the globe, leveraging digital tools for communication and project management.

What is the difference between Remote Ai Robotics vs Remote Machine Learning Engineer?

AspectRemote Ai RoboticsRemote Machine Learning Engineer
Required CredentialsBachelor's or higher in Robotics, AI, or related fields; experience with robotics platformsBachelor's or higher in Computer Science, AI, or related; strong programming skills in Python
Work EnvironmentHands-on with robotics hardware, simulation, and software developmentFocus on developing algorithms, models, and data analysis in software environments
Industry UsageRobotics companies, automation firms, research labsTech companies, startups, research institutions
Common Search/ComparisonRemote Ai Robotics vs Remote Machine Learning Engineer

Remote Ai Robotics involves working with physical robots and hardware integration, while Remote Machine Learning Engineers focus on developing algorithms and models in software. Both roles require strong programming skills and a background in AI, but they differ in their work environment and industry applications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote AI Robotics Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote AI Robotics Engineer, you need strong skills in robotics engineering, artificial intelligence, programming (such as Python or C++), and typically a degree in computer science, robotics, or a related field. Familiarity with robotics simulation tools (like ROS, Gazebo), machine learning frameworks (such as TensorFlow or PyTorch), and cloud-based collaboration platforms is essential. Excellent problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and self-motivation are important soft skills, especially when working remotely. These skills and qualities enable efficient development, troubleshooting, and innovation in building intelligent robotic systems from distributed locations.

Job description

Why RoboForce

RoboForce is an AI robotics company developing Physical AI-powered Robo-Labor for dull, dirty, and dangerous work. The company's robots are engineered for demanding industrial environments, with a focus on real-world deployment and scalability.

We are seeking Senior Robotics Engineer, Manipulation to own the arm autonomy stack. You will architect the algorithms that allow our robot to reach, grasp, and manipulate objects safely and intelligently. You will bridge the gap between high-level planning and low-level control, ensuring our robot can interact with the world with both precision and compliance.

Responsibilitiesย

  • Advanced Motion Planning & Trajectory Generation: You will architect the algorithms that drive high-DOF arm motion in dynamic environments. This involves implementing constrained motion planners that generate smooth, jerk-limited trajectories in real-time. You will also solve the "Whole Body" control problem, coordinating the mobile base and the manipulator arm simultaneously to extend the robot's workspace and maintain stability during heavy lifting tasks.
  • Interaction Control & Compliance: You will develop the low-level control strategies that enable the robot to physically interact with the world safely. This includes designing and tuning impedance/admittance controllers that allow the robot to modulate stiffness based on force feedback-essential for tasks like opening heavy doors or plugging in connectors.
  • Teleoperation & Human-Robot Interface: You will build the mathematical engine behind our remote manipulation capabilities. You are responsible for the logic that translates human operator inputs into feasible, safe robot motions. You will design the control mapping and assistance layers that ensure remote manipulation feels intuitive and stable, managing the complex translation between human intent and the robot's physical constraints without compromising safety.

Requirementsย

  • Experience: Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, OR an M.S. degree with 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Applied Mathematics: Deep understanding of rigid body kinematics, dynamics, and 3D geometry. You are fluent in linear algebra and Lie theory for representing robot state.
  • Modern C++ Expertise: You write production-grade, real-time C++. You are comfortable with modern standards (C++17/20) and libraries like Eigen, KDL, or Pinocchio.
  • Planning Frameworks: Experience with motion planning libraries (e.g., OMPL, MoveIt, TrajOpt, or similar).
  • Control Theory: Practical experience implementing PID, Impedance Control, or Model Predictive Control (MPC) on real hardware.
  • Requires 5 days/week in-office collaboration with the teams.

Bonus Qualificationsย

  • Physics Simulation: Experience tuning physics parameters in simulators like Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or Gazebo to match real-world dynamics.
  • Optimization: Familiarity with solvers like OSQP, Ipopt, or Ceres for trajectory optimization.
  • ML for Control: Interest or experience in Reinforcement Learning (RL) or Learning from Demonstration (LfD) for manipulation tasks.
  • Real Actuators: Experience working with industrial communication buses (EtherCAT/CAN) and motor drives.

Benefits

  • Competitive stock options/equity programs.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plan.
  • Visa sponsorship and green card support for qualified candidates.
  • Lunches and dinners, a fully stocked kitchen, and regular team-building events.
