Job description

Why join Giga
  • The Pace: We're building at a speed most companies talk about but never actually operate at. If you've been bored somewhere else, you won't be here.
  • The Impact: Every person at Giga touches the work that matters. No layers, no waiting for approval chains. You'll see your fingerprints on what we ship.
  • The Team: A team of operators defining the future of AI infrastructure. We recruit A-players from the most innovative companies in the world, and they choose Giga because the work here means more.
  • The Moment: AI doesn't run without power, and that's us. Giga is the picks and shovels behind the AI revolution. This industry is about to explode, and you'll be in the room where it's already happening.

What You'll Do
The AI infrastructure buildout is one of the most consequential capital deployment cycles of our generation - and Giga is at the center of it. Giga designs and manufactures AI power infrastructure at industry-best lead times, with 4.5 GW delivered to date. We offer complete product lines of cooling solutions, transformers, and switchboards tailored for high-density GPU clusters, end-to-end site origination and development, and a fully managed hosting model that lets customers scale GPU clusters without carrying the full development or construction burden. We do it all in-house - engineering, manufacturing, construction - out of our Long Beach, CA and Houston, TX factory footprints, with faster lead times and predictable pricing that reduces supply-chain risk for large, time-sensitive AI builds.
As Director of Business Development, AI Data Centers, you will own and execute Giga's strategy to become the preferred AI infrastructure, site development, and colocation partner for the world's largest hyperscalers, GPU cloud providers, and enterprise AI operators. This is not a relationship management role - it is a market-making role. You will bring Giga's full platform to market: from turnkey, rack-ready sites with direct fiber and on-site power, to $/kW-month hosting models tailored to site characteristics, to prefabricated modular deployments purpose-built for high-density compute. You will build and lead a team of elite business development managers, develop the commercial frameworks that underpin every deal, and close landmark agreements that position Giga as the infrastructure backbone of the AI era. If you thrive at the intersection of complex enterprise sales, infrastructure strategy, and emerging technology - and want to build something that didn't exist before - this is the role for you.
Where You'll Work
We move fast because we're building real infrastructure - and the best work happens when people are in the room together. This role is open to remote or in-office, with one caveat: if you're within 45 minutes of our Houston or San Francisco offices, we expect you to be there regularly. Wherever you're based, travel is part of the job - think customer sites, cross-functional sessions at our hubs, and industry events. If you thrive in motion and understand that showing up drives results, you'll fit right in.
Responsibilities
  • Own and drive Giga's end-to-end go-to-market strategy for AI data center leasing and turnkey development solutions, targeting hyperscalers and large-scale enterprise AI operators
  • Build, hire, and lead a high-performance team of Business Development Managers responsible for originating, structuring, and closing large-scale colocation and leasing agreements
  • Develop and implement a repeatable deal framework - including pricing models, term structures, SLA standards, and negotiation playbooks - that scales with Giga's pipeline
  • Establish KPIs, revenue targets, and performance dashboards that provide real-time visibility into pipeline health, deal velocity, and team productivity
  • Serve as the executive relationship owner for Giga's largest and most strategic prospective customers, from initial engagement through signed agreement
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Operations to ensure customer requirements are translated accurately into site design, capacity planning, and contract terms
  • Represent Giga at industry forums, trade events, and executive briefings to build brand credibility and accelerate pipeline development
  • Monitor competitive dynamics, market pricing, and demand signals across the hyperscale and enterprise segments to continuously refine Giga's positioning and offering
  • Report directly to the Head of Growth on strategic progress, deal status, and market intelligence
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in data center sales, leasing, colocation, or infrastructure solutions - with a demonstrated track record of closing large, complex enterprise or hyperscale deals
  • Deep knowledge of data center fundamentals including power capacity, cooling infrastructure, network connectivity, and critical facility operations
  • Proven experience building and leading business development or enterprise sales teams from the ground up
  • Experience developing and owning go-to-market strategies, revenue forecasts, and sales KPI frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate long-cycle, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals from first contact through executed contract
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage and influence C-suite and VP-level decision-makers at large technology organizations
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Legal, and Finance teams on complex deal structures
  • Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites, Giga hub offices, and industry events
Bonus Points
  • Existing relationships with capacity planning, real estate, or infrastructure procurement teams at major cloud or AI platform organizations
  • Experience with build-to-suit, powered shell, or wholesale colocation deal structures
  • Familiarity with energy procurement, grid interconnection, or utility contracts as they relate to large-scale data center operations
  • Prior experience at a data center developer, REIT, or colocation provider (e.g., wholesale or hyperscale-focused)
  • Experience operating in a high-growth startup or scaling a new business unit within a larger organization
Benefits
  • Subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Equity in a profitable, IPO-bound company
  • 401(k) with 4% employer match
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Parental leave
  • FSA/HSA options
  • Commuter benefits
  • Team on-sites across all offices

Who we hire
We hire people who thrive in chaos and get sharper under pressure. You don't wait to be told what to do, you spot the gap and fill it. When there's work to be done, you do it. You make decisions with the information you have, move fast, and adjust along the way. We're not looking for perfect; we're looking for people who get things done.
