• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the specific needs and circumstances of elderly clients, acknowledging cognitive and physical health changes.
• Formulate personalized treatment plans that incorporate patient history and current psychiatric conditions, ensuring all factors such as family dynamics and social situation are considered.
• Deliver a variety of therapeutic interventions including individual therapy sessions and family counseling, grounded in evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to develop holistic treatment approaches that align with best practices in geriatric mental health.
• Provide crisis intervention as required, offering support during emergencies and ensuring timely access to necessary resources.
• Educate patients and their families regarding mental health issues and available community resources, fostering self-management skills and awareness.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with ethical guidelines and legal requirements using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Engage actively in team discussions, professional development opportunities, and case consultations to promote continuous learning.
• Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in geriatric psychiatry, incorporating findings into practice.

Our work at Medway Therapy Clinic is centered around serving the elderly population in Tucson and surrounding areas. This role involves working with elderly clients facing various mental health challenges, including but not limited to geriatric depression, anxiety disorders, dementia, and life transition struggles. A strong commitment to understanding the nuances of aging and the associated mental health implications is essential in delivering effective care.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Must hold current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Arizona.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, preferably focusing on geriatric mental health.
• Demonstrated knowledge of various geriatric mental health disorders and their effective treatment modalities.
• Experience with individual and family therapy directed toward older adults.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered, empathetic approach.
• Ability to build strong rapport with elderly clients and their families.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant software applications.
• A collaborative spirit, eager to work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Experience specifically working with older adults in a telehealth capacity is highly desirable, as is familiarity with community resources available to support geriatric patients. Additionally, knowledge of best practices in geriatric psychiatry and crisis intervention techniques will be advantageous for this role.

The compensation for this full-time position ranges from $75,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
