Job description

*Telecommuting role to be performed anywhere in the U.S.

Write code to add new software features to applications using Golang or other languages where appropriate.

What You Will Do:

  • Contribute to design and implementation of databases, design schemas and create efficient queries and access patterns.
  • Participate in and contribute to Agile software development ceremonies.
  • Participate in code reviews and assist in maintaining high code quality.
  • Refactor application code to address shortcomings and/or improve stability, performance, and scalability.
  • Coordinate with team leads, architects and other engineers on product design and architecture.
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Work with Red Hat's global customer support teams to aid them in assisting customers.
  • Work with continuous integration (CI) and delivery (CD) and respond to security threats.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related role.
  • Must have five (5) years of experience with at least one of the following programming languages: Golang, Python, Java, C#, or C or C++.
  • Must have three (3) years of experience with microservices architecture and concepts including APIs, versioning, and monitoring.
  • Must have two (2) years of experience with: container-related technologies, virtualization, or distributed systems; and one or more public cloud service providers: AWS, GCP, Azure.
  • Must have one (1) year of experience with database design and implementation.

The salary range for this position is $157,248 - $215,300/year. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat's compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
