Remote Aerial Mapping Pilot information
What is the difference between Remote Aerial Mapping Pilot vs Drone Surveyor?
| Aspect | Remote Aerial Mapping Pilot | Drone Surveyor |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | FAA Part 107 certification, drone pilot license | FAA Part 107 certification, survey-specific certifications |
| Work Environment | Remote operation, often from home or office | Fieldwork, on-site surveys, or remote data analysis |
| Industry Usage | Mapping, GIS, construction, agriculture | Land surveying, construction, environmental assessment |
Remote Aerial Mapping Pilots primarily operate drones remotely to capture aerial data for mapping and GIS projects, often working from a remote location. Drone Surveyors typically perform on-site surveys and data collection, sometimes using drones but also employing traditional methods. Both roles require FAA certification, but their work environments and industry applications differ, with Remote Aerial Mapping Pilots focusing on remote data collection and processing, while Drone Surveyors often engage in fieldwork for precise land measurements.
