Remote Advanced Practice Provider information

What is a remote advanced practice provider?

A Remote Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a healthcare professional, such as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, who delivers medical care and services to patients through telehealth technology rather than in-person visits. Remote APPs assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients' health remotely, often using video calls, phone calls, or online platforms. This role allows for greater flexibility, improved access to care for patients in rural or underserved areas, and the ability to maintain work-life balance for providers. Remote APPs often work for hospitals, clinics, or telemedicine companies and must be licensed in the state(s) where their patients are located.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote advanced practice provider?

To thrive as a Remote Advanced Practice Provider, you need advanced clinical expertise, a graduate-level degree (such as NP or PA), and valid licensure. Familiarity with telemedicine platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and relevant state or national certifications is typically required. Strong communication, self-motivation, and adaptability are critical soft skills for building patient trust and efficiently managing virtual care. These abilities are essential for delivering safe, high-quality patient care and maintaining effective remote collaboration.

What are some common challenges faced by remote advanced practice providers and how can they be addressed?

Remote Advanced Practice Providers often encounter challenges related to virtual patient assessment, such as limited physical examination capabilities and establishing rapport through telehealth platforms. Effective communication skills, proficiency with telemedicine technology, and adapting clinical judgment to remote settings are essential for success. Building strong collaborative relationships with on-site healthcare teams and maintaining clear documentation can help address these challenges and ensure high-quality patient care.

This full-time remote role invites you to play a pivotal part in providing outpatient therapy to individuals and families affected by cancer diagnoses. You will utilize your clinical expertise to create individualized care plans that align with the latest evidence-based practices, ultimately enhancing the mental health and well-being of our patients.

About the Organization

Together For Change Center is driven by a bold vision to revolutionize health care. Our mission is to act as proactive partners in health, improving lives and delivering high standards of care while maintaining lower costs. Our organization is fueled by shared values of compassion, innovation, leadership, and excellence, empowering team members to create positive change within healthcare. We believe that a fulfilling career encompasses more than just competitive compensation; we prioritize continuous learning and development, transparent leadership, and a balanced approach to work and life.

Work Environment

As a member of our supportive team, you will work in a climate-controlled remote setting that ensures comfort and promotes productivity. Daily responsibilities may include virtual interactions with team members and healthcare providers, fostering collaboration even from afar. The flexibility of remote work allows you to manage your time effectively while meeting the essential needs of our patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, utilizing tools such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to provide accurate diagnoses and treatment evaluations.
  • Create individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, ensuring that cultural diversity and unique needs are appropriately addressed.
  • Regularly monitor patient progress and implement tailored interventions to support their mental health diagnosis, adapting strategies as necessary for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatment records and clinical information in compliance with regulatory requirements, leveraging current technologies to ensure efficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients and multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment strategies that reflect desired outcomes and the specifics of each patient's situation.
  • Serve as a vital link between patients and treatment providers by coordinating referrals and establishing relationships with other clinicians and agencies.
  • Mentorship is an important aspect of this role, as you will provide guidance to students, interns, residents, and volunteers, fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals.
  • In collaboration with your clinical supervisor, you may engage in peer reviews and team-building activities that support personal and professional development.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your expertise will primarily focus on individuals and families coping with the emotional impacts associated with cancer diagnoses. This diverse patient population will require you to tailor your therapeutic approach to address varying levels of psychological distress and support coping mechanisms while providing compassionate care.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current State License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates with prior experience providing mental health therapy in a healthcare or detox setting, particularly in addressing the emotional and psychological challenges associated with chronic illness or cancer care. Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation package reflects our commitment to attracting and retaining a skilled workforce. The annual salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $105,000 based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer a sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package which may include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and opportunities for continuing education.

Career Growth Opportunities

At Together For Change Center, we aim to help our employees reach their full potential. We provide ongoing training and development programs designed to enhance your clinical skills and advance your career trajectory within our organization. Opportunities for specialization in areas such as trauma-focused therapy or advanced practice social work are encouraged and supported.

You will work alongside a dedicated team of professionals who are equally passionate about making a difference. Together, we empower patients, enrich communities, and foster a culture of change, driving innovation in mental health care.
