Job description

Summary:
Mid level claims adjuster. Adjust assigned claims to a successful conclusion independently and under the direction of the
Regional Property Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate claims to determine if a loss is covered, the amount of the loss, and proper conclusion in a reasonable amount
    of time.
  • Overnight travel as required.
  • Must exercise diligent use of diary and excellent reserving fundamentals.
  • Perform or assist in special projects as assigned.
  • Meets Property Claims Adjuster level expectations and general department standards.

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Must be coachable and learn from constructive criticism.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills required.
  • Excellent computer skills required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, company manuals, technical procedures, or
    governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general
    public.
  • Climbing ladders and walking roofs, driving hours at a time and being able to carry a ladder are required. Working in hot
    and cold temperature extremes is occasionally expected. Being able to have an in-person conversation with insured's,
    agents, contractors, public adjusters and vendors is required.

Education &/Or Experience:
  • College Bachelor's degree preferred. Consideration will be given to applicants with an associate's degree and a minimum five years work experience in the property/casualty insurance industry, and who have demonstrated a desire to learn through the completion of various IIA/CPCU or other recognized industry courses.
  • Continued learning through additional courses may be required by the Manager.

roofs for field claims. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this
job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
