Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Actuarial Associate II!

About the Role

The Retirement Solution Financial ReportingTeam is seeking a skilled and motivated actuarial professional to join our growing organization. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, have a strong attention to detail, demonstrate strong analytical acumen, and take initiative to improve and enhance existing processes. This position offers the opportunity to learn about Symetra's growing annuity business while producing critical financial results.

What you will do

  • Run the monthly valuation process for the payout annuity and deferred annuityblocks, producing regular reports and analysis.
  • Work with your manager to present and explain results to senior leaders in a clear andconcise manner.
  • Enhance current valuation process using modern technology tools to maximize automation.
  • Produce and enhance documentation for our monthly, quarterly, and annual valuation work.
  • Adapt existing processes to new and changing industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with your teammates in the larger Retirement Division.
  • Answer requests from internal and external auditors and stakeholders.

Compensation

Salary Range:$87,900 - $146,500 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs

Who you are

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent with strong quantitative background including college level mathematics.
  • 2 to 5 years of annuity related actuarial experience.
  • 3 to 5 actuarial exams, ASA or close to ASA.
  • Proven ability to adhere to due dates and strong sense of accountability.
  • Has a good understanding of annuity products.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Experience with Python, Snowflake and/or other actuarial modeling software.
  • High school diploma required.
