Responsibilities

The Senior Market Access & Reimbursement Manager serves as the organization's senior reimbursement and market access subject matter expert. This role leads implementation of enterprise market access initiatives, provides strategic recommendations based on reimbursement trends and payer dynamics, and partners with commercial leadership to support product adoption and customer access.

The position leverages deep expertise in reimbursement, health economics, coding, coverage, and payment systems to address complex access challenges, support customer adoption, and influence business decisions. The Senior Manager works cross-functionally with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR), Clinical, Regulatory, Government Affairs, and Marketing teams to support execution of market access priorities while providing expert guidance on reimbursement strategy, site-of-care optimization, and healthcare economics.

This role maintains significant influence across the organization, routinely engages senior customer stakeholders, and serves as an escalation point for complex reimbursement matters impacting product adoption throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of market access and reimbursement strategies for assigned products, customer segments, or business priorities, providing expert guidance and driving cross-functional execution to achieve customer adoption and commercial objectives. 
  • Assess reimbursement trends, payer policies, and healthcare market dynamics and provide strategic recommendations to market access and commercial leadership.
  • Identify reimbursement barriers and access opportunities and develop actionable solutions to support product adoption across priority accounts and health systems.
  • Serve as the organization's senior subject matter expert on reimbursement, coding, coverage, payment methodologies, and healthcare economics.
  • Lead engagement with priority IDNs, health systems, Academic Medical Centers, and strategic accounts to address complex reimbursement and access challenges.
  • Support high-impact customer discussions and negotiations where reimbursement strategy, economic value, and payment pathways are critical to adoption decisions.
  • Partner with Commercial, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Clinical, Regulatory, Government Affairs, and Marketing teams to align and execute market access priorities.
  • Lead development and application of reimbursement tools, economic value resources, budget impact models, and customer-facing access materials.
  • Provide reimbursement education, coaching, and guidance to commercial teams and act as an escalation resource for complex customer issues.
  • Mentor less experienced market access professionals and contribute to strengthening organizational market access capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in healthcare reimbursement, market access, health economics, or related field.
  • Combined years of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of hospital reimbursement, complex disease states, and technical product information.
  • Experience in medical device market access, reimbursement, payer engagement, or field reimbursement functions.
  • Commercial Coverage Monitoring: Track trends in commercial insurance coverage and clinical guidelines, proactively addressing emerging issues.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise initiatives or complex market access projects.
  • Experience influencing reimbursement discussions with provider organizations, payers, IDNs, or health systems.
  • Ability to interpret and apply clinical and economic evidence in customer engagements.
  • Experience presenting to hospital leadership, physician leaders, finance teams, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and influencing skills without direct authority.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. reimbursement systems, payer policy, coding, billing, payment methodologies, and coverage dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence provider stakeholders and drive access outcomes.
  • Travel domestically up to 60%.
