Pay

  • $20.95 /hour plus $5.09 Health and Welfare

Schedule

  • Training
    • Monday-Friday 8am-5pm CST
  • Post-Training Scheduling- Upon completion of training, personnel may be assigned to any shift within the following operating hours:
    • Monday: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. ET
    • Tuesday – Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. ET
    • Thursday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. ET

Job Summary

Quality Control will provide quality control reviews for functions supporting the Debt Management Collection Services (DMCS) program and potentially other Department of ED programs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control checks on DMCS functions including Loan Intake, Mail Intake, National Payment Center, Back Office and the Correspondence Team.
  • Perform quality verification of template usage and data populated.
  • Perform administrative functions that support the processing of appeals.
  • Maintain and update databases, score cards, reports, and documents with high degree of accuracy.
  • Identify correspondence requiring escalation, escalating immediately if warranted.
  • Provide assistance with decision notification, which may include any form of correspondence with borrowers.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Federal regulations and policies as they apply to student financial aid.
  • Maintain current understanding of the processing procedures.
  • Demonstrate and maintain appropriate judgement with confidential information.
  • May perform other functions as requested by management within scope of level or occasional support of lower-level functions as business/volume need requires.
  • Type or generate letters and other documents as necessary.
  • Participate in calibration meetings.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • College courses or degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Accurate data entry skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
  • Ability to write using proper grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and pass a written test.
  • Applicants will be required to contract to undergo program update training as student financial assistance programs change, as well as required employee training.
  • Must be current on federal student loans or must not be delinquent or in default on federal student loans.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, Federal security clearance (through MAXIMUS Federal) required.
  • Must reside in the U.S.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Clearance

As a federal contractor, this position may require security clearance granting access to classified information. The background investigation is conducted by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and is an evaluation of the whole person to determine suitability. The suitability review begins after a conditional offer of employment has been accepted and will include a review of your employment, education, residences, references, criminal history and credit, as an example. Some of the most important factors in an investigation are the individual’s honesty, candor, and thoroughness in the completion of their security forms. In rare instances, non-U.S. citizens with highly specialized skills and experience may also be considered for the security clearance process.

Working from Home Requirements

To be eligible to work-from-home, you must have:
  • Must reside within 50 miles of a Coast Professional, Inc. office.
  • High-speed internet connection (FCC defines High-Speed Internet as 25 Mega-Bits per second (Mbps) minimum download speed and 3 Mbps upload speed).
  • The ability to physically connect to your high-speed home network with an ethernet cable (network cable). Coast will provide a 5 ft. connection.
  • A Mobile Device for DUO Multi-Factor Login. Must be iPhone 7 running IOS 11.1 or higher or Android device running Android 9.2 or greater.
  • A quiet, dedicated workspace free of distractions and interruptions.
  • Computer equipment is provided. You must have the ability to pick up equipment within 48 hours’ notice.
