Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Position: Remote Pharmacist

Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 8-hour shifts
Pay Rate: $57/hour

Work Setting: Fully Remote

Position Overview

RPh on the Go is seeking a Remote Pharmacist for a 13-week contract assignment with a leading pharmacy operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist who enjoys patient interaction, clinical decision-making, and working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment — all from the convenience of a remote setting.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while providing high-quality patient care. Pharmacists with experience in retail, mail order, specialty pharmacy, or other high-volume pharmacy settings are encouraged to apply. New graduates are welcome to be considered.

Important Licensing Requirement

Candidates MUST have an active Idaho pharmacist license OR be willing and eligible to obtain an Idaho pharmacist license prior to starting the assignment.

An Idaho pharmacist license is required for this position. Candidates who do not currently hold an Idaho license must be willing to complete the necessary Idaho licensure/registration process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive patient counseling and medication education by phone, addressing questions regarding new prescriptions, refills, side effects, medication adherence, and proper medication use.
  • Collaborate with prescribers and physician offices to clarify prescriptions and resolve clinical issues that may delay dispensing.
  • Review and clinically verify new and refill prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, drug interactions, contraindications, and dosing accuracy.
  • Perform pharmacist verification of filled prescriptions in a high-volume, closed-door fulfillment environment, ensuring accuracy of medication, dose, quantity, and labeling prior to dispensing.
  • Assist pharmacy management with receiving, processing, and transferring patient prescriptions.
  • Take ownership of prescription transfers from initiation through completion, ensuring an efficient and positive patient experience.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, prescribers, and pharmacy team members while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and patient care.

Schedule Options

This position offers multiple 8-hour schedule options:

  • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Qualifications

  • Active Idaho pharmacist license required OR willingness and eligibility to obtain an Idaho pharmacist license prior to starting.
  • 0–6 years of pharmacist experience preferred.
  • Experience in retail, mail order, specialty pharmacy, or another high-volume pharmacy environment is preferred.
  • New graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and patient service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to medication safety.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
