We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we're all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

Join us in shaping the future of Ford Motor Company, as part of a global organization with exceptional colleagues in world-class facilities. In this position...

Technical Operations turns design vision into reality with an obsession to detail and the art of the possible. As an integral part of Ford Global Design, we deliver theme feasibility, surface geometry, and production-launch appearance quality.

Working cross-functionally with Class A surfacing, Design creative, and Color & Materials designer, they are able to make dynamic, precise models that allow the broader Ford Design team to see the design vision in high resolution on a monitor, large power wall, or in VR.

What you'll do...

  • Collaborate with teams from Class A, Design engineering, Color & Materials, and Design Creative to produce accurate/complex VRED models during the Theme Feasibility process.
  • Support all teams needs in the creation of up to date, full-vehicle (engineering and aesthetic) digital models within community for Design and DTO in-context reviews.
  • Ability to  create textures, UV editing, and apply lights using VRED. Identify and locate geometrically contextual parts (c/o and B-side parts) to enable complete vehicle reviews.
  • Guide senior management through 3D Model reviews.
  • Provide community lessons-learned to Digital Configuration Leader and provide fresh eyes feedback on Leader pilots.
  • Able to support other DTO disciplines on as-needed basis (class A surfacing, studio engineering)

You'll have...

  • Bachelors or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 3 years minimum experience developing Digital models or Polygon surfaces
  • 3 years' experience with developing Class 1A surfaces and utilizing C3P/C3PNG toolsets

  • Portfolio of your work representing related configuration/3D experience

Even better, you may have...

  • Thorough working knowledge of the surface development process from concept through production release for both Exterior and Interior components.
  • Expanded digital knowledge in material creation, AI story telling using Vizcom.
  • Understanding of data structure within C3P/C3PNG/3Dx/Teamcenter
  • Experience working with and managing complex data sets.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder...or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:
