Job Title: Pre-Award Grants & Contracts Specialist IV Location: Remote Type: Direct Hire Salary: $58,000-$80,000 Overview: The incumbent will perform pre- and post-award accounting duties for very complex clinical research grants and contracts. Prepares, negotiates, and monitors very complex grants, contracts, subcontracts, and budgets. Prepares complex government applications and reports and interprets policy and procedure. Monitors account activity, performs internal audits, processes budget modifications, analyzes financials, and reviews routine reports. Develops and implements accounting techniques and procedures for operational improvements and assists with managing special projects and preparing operating budgets. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit proposals, subawards, etc. for various federal and non-federal sponsors
  • Perform award set up for new awards and ensure compliance with sponsor and university regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Perform post-award accounting duties for complex grants and contracts; prepare and submit invoices, re-budgets projects, and set up sub-awards and contracted services agreements; coordinate the purchasing of supplies and equipment
  • Monitor account activity, including expenditures, cost transfers, adjustments, reconciliations, and other related transactions; perform internal audits and resolve complex issues
  • Ensure accuracy and adherence to budgets, sponsor terms, federal regulations, policies, and procedures; provide policy and procedure interpretation
  • Prepare complex reports to federal and sponsoring agencies; analyze financial documentation and review routine reports
  • Submit account closing memos for Sponsored Research Accounting
  • Facilitate data use, material transfer, and other agreements for faculty
Requirements
  • Bachelor degree
  • 3 or more years of Pre and Post award experience in clinical research
  • NIH and other federal pre- and post-award administration
  • Experience managing budgets and finances
