  • Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available support resources, thereby enhancing their understanding and recovery journey.
  • Maintain meticulous, confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient records.
  • Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities geared towards enhancing trauma-informed care practices.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to continually improve and adapt treatment methodologies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on individuals affected by trauma, including those experiencing PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociation. You will have the distinct opportunity to make a profound impact by guiding patients through their recovery journeys, fostering resilience, and helping them navigate the challenges stemming from their traumatic experiences.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and active licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R within the state of New York.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant post-licensure experience, preferably in trauma-focused therapeutic modalities.
  • In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies, particularly those that build resilience in patients.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on a compassionate, non-judgmental therapeutic approach.
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations while employing effective crisis management techniques.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems and a strong command of standard office applications.
  • A team-oriented mindset, capable of collaborating effectively with diverse professionals.
Preferred Experience

While 2 years of post-licensure experience is required, candidates with advanced experience in trauma-informed practices, particularly those familiar with diverse cultural backgrounds and community settings, will be considered favorably. Additional certifications in trauma-focused therapies will be an asset.
