The Role: Data Center Construction Manager

As a Data Center Construction Manager, you lead day-to-day execution of assigned construction projects at our Reno campus. You are accountable for safety, schedule, cost control, and field coordination.

This role ensures contractors and internal partners deliver work that meets Switch standards for quality and compliance. You are expected to be onsite daily and actively present in the field.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead onsite construction execution for assigned data center projects

  • Monitor contractor safety performance and enforce site safety standards

  • Conduct regular site walks to identify risks, quality issues, and corrective actions

  • Manage project schedules and address delays before they affect milestones

  • Track project costs and support cost control with contractors and internal teams

  • Coordinate with design, engineering, operations, networking, security, controls, supply chain, and commissioning partners

  • Provide constructability input during design and active construction

  • Support logistics planning and equipment deliveries

  • Identify project risks early and implement mitigation plans

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and permits

  • Deliver accurate weekly and monthly project updates to leadership

  • Partner with the Senior Construction Manager to support site execution and reporting

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in data center construction or complex commercial construction

  • Working knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and field coordination

  • Experience managing schedules, budgets, and contractor performance

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Experience using construction management software such as Procore

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

  • Familiarity with critical data center systems and infrastructure

  • Exposure to CAD or 3D modeling tools

This role is fully onsite in Reno, NV.

Work occurs in active construction environments and requires appropriate personal protective equipment. Extended hours, nights, or weekends may be required based on construction schedules.
