Job description

SUMMARY 

 Mortenson is currently seeking a Project Engineer within our BLUvera group that will provide analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues while interacting with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, maintaining flexibility, resourcefulness, professionalism, and confidentiality. 
Please Note - This role will be based on different project sites on a rotational basis. Candidates must be willing to travel and stay on a project for weeks at a time with rotations home.  Immediate project sites will be at Eagle Mountain, UT and Los Lunas, NM.  Future project sites are to be determined. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons 

  • Implement pre-construction quality plan 

  • Obtain and maintain construction permits, manage fee payments 

  • Develop and maintain Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report 

  • Manage, create, and distribute contract documents 

  • Establish procedures for electronic documents, including RFIs and correspondence 

  • Manage testing and inspection processes, implement three-phase inspection system 

  • Manage submittals, ensure material deliveries align with project schedule 

  • Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders, update as-built construction documents 

  • Build relationships across diverse backgrounds, lead and coach team members effectively 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience 

  • Minimum two years of related experience 

  • Current driver's license 

  • Detail-oriented to manage multiple project tasks 

  • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices 

  • Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills 

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office and web application skills 

  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies 

  • Active listening and effective communication, openness to diverse feedback 

  • Ability to travel up to 100%

The base pay range for this role is $84,100 - $113,500. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.  This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
