Job description

Milagro is seeking Latina/e actors for its upcoming production of A Xmas Cuento Remix by Maya Malan Gonzalez, directed by Marilet Martinez.

Roles:

Seeking actor to play track:

Gina/ La Catrina: Latina 20's, speaks spanish, sings.

Seeking actor to play track:

Anita/ Young Elena: Latina 30's, sings. 

A Xmas Cuento Remix Synopsis: 

Anita Chapa has lost her job on Christmas Eve and with her family about to lose their house she must seek out help from her estranged Tia Dolores. Dolores Avara, with the help of some opinionated carolers must learn to forgive her sister, set her pride aside and remember the importance of family and traditions.This tale touches on class, the displacement of low income families and good old fashioned Christmas tamales.

Callbacks

Callbacks will consist of readings from the script and singing an excerpt from the show. Sides and sheet music will be provided in advance. Depending on casting needs, performers may be asked to read for multiple roles.

Rehearsals begin October 26 and will generally be held Monday through Friday evenings, and Saturday afternoons..

Technical rehearsals: November 16 - December 1

Previews: December 2nd and 3rd
