Senior Engineer – Waste & Recycling Division

📍 Birmingham, AL Metro Area - paid relocation available

💼 Full-Time | Civil or Environmental Engineering

Join a growing Waste & Recycling Division delivering high-impact solid waste, environmental, and site development projects. We’re looking for a Senior Engineer who can lead complex design work, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and mentor the next generation of engineers.


What You’ll Do
  • Lead planning, design, scheduling, and execution of solid waste site development projects (landfills, transfer stations, convenience sites).

  • Oversee master plans, design drawings, stormwater systems, erosion control, specifications, and cost estimates.

  • Prepare reports, studies, and permitting documents.

  • Direct internal teams of engineers, designers, and geologists, plus external specialty consultants.

  • Mentor junior staff across multiple offices and support their technical development.

  • Travel to project sites and client locations to evaluate conditions and monitor construction.


What You Bring
  • B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering and P.E. license in Alabama (reciprocity will be considered).

  • 10–15 years of experience in solid waste or closely related civil/environmental projects.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and comfort leading large, complex engineering projects.

  • Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching, team leadership, and client interaction.

  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
