Job description

Experienced Marine Technician (Relocation Assistance Available)

Ready to skip the micromanagement and let your expertise shine? We run a fast-paced, high-volume service department, and we are looking for a skilled Marine Technician who knows their way around a boat and can hit the ground running on day one. If you are an experienced mechanic who loves solving complex diagnostic puzzles and doesn't need their hand held, we want you on our team.

What’s in it for you? While manufacturer or ABYC certifications are a huge plus, they are not required to apply. If you have the proven field experience and the drive, we are fully willing to pay for your certifications to help you level up your career. Plus, if you're the right fit but live out of town, we will pay for your relocation to get you here.

What You’ll Do (The Day-to-Day)

  • Advanced Diagnostics: Use your experience and modern computerized diagnostic tools to quickly pinpoint mechanical and electrical issues in inboard and outboard gas engines.
  • Hit the Ground Running: Independently tackle routine maintenance, complex engine overhauls, and repairs on fuel lines, propellers, and steering mechanisms.
  • Systems & Electrical: Troubleshoot, wire, and repair onboard electrical systems, bilge pumps, sanitation systems, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Custom Rigging: Install cutting-edge marine electronics, including GPS, radar, VHF radios, and sonar equipment.
  • Sea Trials: Take the wheel for on-water diagnostic testing and sea trials to ensure everything is running flawlessly.
  • Keep it Professional: Maintain clean documentation of your labor hours and parts used, and ensure all work aligns with ABYC guidelines and safety standards.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven Marine Experience: You aren't new to the watercraft world. You have a solid, demonstrable track record of repairing inboard/outboard engines and marine systems.
  • Autonomy: You are a self-starter. We trust our team to do great work, meaning you can take a work order and run with it without constant supervision.
  • Certifications (Preferred, Not Required): If you already have Yamaha, Mercury or ABYC certifications, great! If not, we will invest in you and pay for your certifications if you have the right experience.
  • Technical Savvy: Deep understanding of marine electrical and hydraulic systems, plus comfort using modern diagnostic software.
  • The Essentials: High school diploma/GED, a valid driver’s license, and the physical stamina to lift heavy equipment, work in tight spaces, and handle variable outdoor weather.

Why Join Us?

  • Zero Hand-Holding: We respect your skills and give you the autonomy to do your job.
  • Paid Professional Growth: We invest in our people by covering the costs of your ongoing manufacturer and industry certifications.
  • Relocation Assistance: We'll help cover the costs to get you here if you're moving from out of town.
  • Competitive Pay & Benefits: (Insert your specific pay range/benefits here, e.g. paid time off)

Are you ready to captain your own career? Apply today and let’s talk.
