Litigation Family Law Paralegal

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, driven, and compassionate Litigation Family Law Paralegal to join our Pensacola team. This is a full-blown litigation role—you will be in the trenches preparing for hearings, drafting motions, managing discovery, and supporting our attorneys through every phase of contested family law cases.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment, has a genuine passion for helping families during their most challenging times, and takes ownership of their work. You will be an integral part of our team, directly impacting case outcomes and client experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents

• Manage complex case files from inception through resolution, including contested divorces, custody disputes, and modifications

• Prepare financial discovery documents including Financial Affidavits, interrogatories, and requests for production

• Calculate child support using Florida Child Support Guidelines and prepare worksheet calculations

• Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, and court hearings

• E-file documents with Florida courts and maintain strict compliance with court deadlines

• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and third parties professionally

• Assist attorneys with trial preparation including exhibit organization, witness coordination, and trial notebooks

• Process default proceedings and prepare final judgments

• Maintain accurate time entries and billing records in Clio Manage

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2+ years of family law paralegal experience (3-5 years preferred)

• Demonstrates knowledge in Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure

• Experience with contested litigation matters (not just uncontested divorces)

• Proficiency in drafting discovery documents and calculating support

• Strong knowledge of Florida e-filing systems and court procedures

• Proficiency in Clio Manage (or similar legal practice management software)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) certification

• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or associate/bachelor's degree

• Experience with Westlaw Form Builder and Case Status client communication

platform

• Personal connection to family law (experienced divorce, custody issues, etc.)
