Job Description:
Job Title: IT Equipment Relocation Project Manager (On-Site)
Location: Memphis, TN (On-site)
Duration: 6+ months (with potential extension)
Start Date: Targeting onboarding within 3-4 weeks
Hourly Rate: $55.00hr on W2
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead a large-scale relocation of end-user technology within an active hospital environment. This role involves managing the movement of thousands of IT assets-including PCs, phones, and mounted displays-between facilities within a compressed 6-7 month timeline.
The ideal candidate will ensure the project is executed with speed, precision, and minimal disruption to hospital operations. This is a highly visible, hands-on role requiring strong on-site leadership and operational control.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
  • Lead the planning and execution of a high-volume IT equipment relocation project.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones.
  • Ensure delivery within established timelines while maintaining operational continuity in a live healthcare environment.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.
On-Site Coordination
  • Provide day-to-day, on-site oversight of project activities.
  • Track progress, manage risks, and resolve issues in real time.
  • Coordinate logistics for moving and deploying thousands of end-user devices.
Team Oversight
  • Oversee and coordinate a team of 30-45 technicians during deployment phases.
  • Serve as the escalation point for operational challenges and technical concerns.
  • Ensure accountability and alignment across all contributors without direct people management authority.
Stakeholder Management
  • Interface directly with customer stakeholders to provide status updates and ensure alignment.
  • Maintain clear communication across internal and external teams.
  • Support reporting, documentation, and executive-level updates as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in IT project management, preferably in large-scale deployment or migration initiatives.
  • Proven experience managing complex, fast-paced projects with tight timelines.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Experience leading field teams or coordinating large technician groups.
  • PMP certification strongly preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • Background in IT equipment deployment, relocation, or migration projects.
  • Experience working in healthcare or other high-availability environments.
  • Data center migration experience (servers/storage) is a plus, though not required.
  • Familiarity with asset tracking, inventory management, and deployment logistics.
Additional Details
  • This position requires consistent on-site presence during planning and deployment phases.
  • The role replaces a higher-cost remote PM model and will assume primary responsibility for execution.
  • Engagement operates under a fixed-fee structure, making efficiency and cost control essential.
  • Strong performers may be considered for future project opportunities.
Why This Role
This is an opportunity to lead a high-impact, mission-critical project supporting a healthcare environment. The role offers significant visibility, hands-on leadership, and the potential for continued engagement on future initiatives.
