POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Project Manager ("Project Manager") manages medium to large information system-enabled, cross-functional projects supporting business objectives. The Project Manager creates, develops, and implements project plans consistent with objectives, business requirements, timelines, and budget constraints. The Project Manager provides oversight and management, leading teams of information technology professionals, business partners, and vendors to execute projects.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership on IT projects of varying size and complexity
  • Ability to quickly adapt to various systems and application functionality
  • Assist with the development of Request for Proposal (RFP), Statement of Work (SoW), and vendor selection
  • Accountable for the definition, planning, scheduling, execution, and successful completion of assigned projects
  • Identify risk factors and contingency plans, communicate project status and critical risk factors to stakeholders, and escalate issues to adjust project scope, resources, or timelines
  • Validate plan scope and associated time/resource estimates with supporting business owners and customers
  • Consult directly with resource managers to confirm resource availability and allocations
  • Manage project tasks to achieve designated milestones and timelines
  • Collaborate with architecture and operational teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards
  • Ensure that assigned projects are completed within estimated hours, established completion dates, and approved budget
  • Ensure accuracy of project charges and time reporting, report variances, and provide financial forecasts
  • Ensure that the project team understands and adheres to established project delivery methods
  • Ensure project management best practices are applied to all project areas, including scope, timeline, budget, resources, risks, and communications
  • Ensure the business customer receives the solution as identified in the business requirements and scope of the project
  • Develop and follow appropriate transition plans to move projects from integration to ongoing support
  • Document lessons learned and incorporate findings into future projects
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, stakeholders, and project team members
  • Perform all responsibilities within IT policies and directives at or above performance and evaluation standards
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business Administration, and/or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • 5-6 years of IT and/or related industry work experience, with at least 5 years of experience managing IT projects
  • Proficient in Waterfall and Agile project delivery methodologies
  • Experience working within a Project Management Office
  • Proficient in Waterfall project delivery methodologies, experience with Agile is a plus
  • Must have significant knowledge in subject matters pertaining to both IT and the business (oil and gas)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to conduct highly effective presentations with audiences both large and small 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and highly experienced in dealing with individuals at all levels
  • Familiarity with ITIL concepts and the ability to follow problem, change, and incident management processes and procedures
  • Excellent understanding of technology life cycles and the concepts and practices required to implement effective information systems
  • Time management skills and multitasking capabilities to handle multiple concurrent projects
  • Self-starter who is well organized and an effective proactive leader who takes the initiative to meet personal, departmental, and corporate goals.
  • Results-oriented with excellent communication, writing, interpersonal, verbal, and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience delivering solutions that align with business strategies
  • Must be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with business partners
  • Demonstrated team-building skills
  • Ability to deal with internal employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to travel to company locations (up to 10%)
  • Regular and reliable attendance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of industry-leading corporate, financial, CTRM, and ETRM applications (Oracle Financials Cloud, Hyperion, Allegro, SharePoint, Maximo, Power BI, Right Angle, Aligne, Endur)
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow Project and Demand applications
  • PMP, MPM, CPM, CAPM, PMI-ACP, CSM, ITIL, Six Sigma or equivalent certification is a plus
