Job description

JTS Build & Design

Project Manager

Location: Chatham, NJ

Build high-quality residential homes with a focus on craftsmanship and detail.

JTS Build & Design is a growing residential design-build company creating elegant, high-end homes for families in Northern New Jersey. The company emphasizes thoughtful design, natural materials, premium finishes, and a hands-on client experience from start to finish.

JTS Build & Design is hiring a Project Manager to oversee residential construction projects from active jobsite coordination through completion. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, hands-on when needed, and able to keep projects moving without constant direction. The right person will manage subcontractors, monitor materials, maintain safe and orderly jobsites, anticipate problems before they happen, and help deliver the level of quality JTS clients expect. This is a full-time, on-site role supporting projects primarily in Northern New Jersey; candidates should be able to reliably commute to jobsites in this area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visit and monitor active residential jobsites daily
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and field partners to keep projects on track
  • Open and close job sites as needed and keep them secure
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safety-conscious jobsites
  • Track materials, tools, and supplies; minimize waste and loss
  • Identify upcoming material needs and communicate them in advance
  • Coordinate or arrange the purchase of materials (company-provided purchasing process)
  • Be present during inspections and remain involved until final approval/seal is obtained
  • Apply for permits and help keep municipal approvals moving
  • Send regular jobsite photos, updates, and issue reports
  • Inspect completed work throughout the process, not just at the end
  • Enforce jobsite standards around safety, professionalism, and conduct
  • Step in hands-on to solve urgent field issues when necessary

Qualifications:

  • Project management experience in residential construction
  • Experience with new construction strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and hold teams accountable
  • Strong organization and planning skills with the ability to think ahead
  • Hands-on field knowledge and willingness to jump in when needed
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Authorized to work legally in the U.S.
  • Able to communicate professionally with ownership, clients, and crews
  • Spanish language skills are a plus for communicating with crews
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and substance-free work environment during working hours
  • This is a full-time role requiring consistent availability during standard working hours

Pay and Benefits:

  • Full-Time, W-2 employment
  • Pay range: $90,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Potential performance bonus after successful project completion
  • Workers' compensation coverage
  • Opportunity to grow with a small but expanding company

Why JTS Build & Design:

JTS Build & Design offers the chance to work closely with a founder who truly cares about quality, design, and client experience. This is not a pass-the-buck management role. It is an opportunity for a strong field leader to make a real impact inside a growing company that values honesty, collaboration, determination, and pride in the finished product. If you want to help create distinctive homes and bring structure to a growing operation, this is a role where your work will matter every day.
