Job description

๐Ÿ“Œ Project Manager (Structural Steel & Misc. Metals)

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Employeeโ€‘Owned

๐Ÿ’ฐ $80,000 - $120,000 + auto/fuel allowance

๐Ÿ—๏ธ The Story

Youโ€™ve seen their work without knowing it.

For more than a century, this employeeโ€‘owned steel contractor has been designing, fabricating, and erecting the structures that shape the Northeast โ€” commercial buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, and the kind of projects people point at and say, โ€œI helped build that.โ€

They operate multiple fabrication shops, several erection operations, and a growing network of offices. They started in bridges. Moved into commercial. And now โ€” full circle โ€” theyโ€™re back building bridges again.

Growth is happening. And they need a Project Manager who can keep that momentum moving.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ The Role

This isnโ€™t a desk job. Itโ€™s for someone who thrives on movement, coordination, and control.

Youโ€™ll manage steel projects from turnover to completion:

  • Review drawings, schedules, RFIs, change orders
  • Coordinate engineering, detailing, fabrication, erection
  • Lead job meetings & site visits
  • Track costs, billing, documentation
  • Keep safety, quality, and customer communication tight

Projects range from small packages to major multiโ€‘millionโ€‘dollar builds, with most landing between $3Mโ€“$10M. Youโ€™ll typically run 3โ€“5 major projects at once.

๐Ÿ‘ค Who This Is For

Youโ€™ve spent 3โ€“7+ years in structural steel or misc. metals. You understand how steel flows โ€” engineering โ†’ detailing โ†’ fabrication โ†’ erection. You communicate clearly and keep projects moving without being micromanaged.

Youโ€™re comfortable with:

  • Erection & fabrication
  • Bluebeam & Microsoft tools
  • Customer coordination
  • Multiโ€‘project workload

๐ŸŽฏ Why People Stay

  • Employee-Owned (ESOP) โ€” youโ€™re not just staff; youโ€™re an owner
  • 100+ years of stability
  • Consistent backlog
  • New offices, new markets, new growth
  • Bridge work returning โ€” technically challenging, careerโ€‘defining
  • Relocation support available for the right person
