Job description

Description
The Opportunity
Build the Future of Maui. Lead the Crew That Builds What Lasts.
At Alpha Inc., construction isn't just about concrete, steel, and schedules - it's about building Hawai'i's future with precision, integrity, and heart. If you thrive in the controlled chaos of heavy civil work, know how to command a project from bid to closeout, and can keep crews aligned, budgets tight, and timelines sharp, then this might be your next big move.
This isn't a clipboard-and-trailer-in-the-back role. This is a frontline leader position - boots on the ground, eyes on the details, and hands on the wheel of some of Maui's most impactful civil projects.
Our Project Managers play a critical role in translating Alpha's vision into real, measurable, high-quality work on the ground.
You'll be the one ensuring every cubic yard, every subcontractor, every schedule shift, and every field decision reflects Alpha Inc.'s commitment to excellence and our deeply rooted Hawai'i values.
About Alpha Inc.
Alpha Inc. is a Hawai'i-born heavy civil, concrete, drilling, renewable energy, and infrastructure company committed to building projects that strengthen island communities for generations.
We live by three core values that shape every jobsite and every interaction:
  • Lead with Heart - We look out for each other - with respect, humility, and genuine care.
  • Strength in Unity - One crew, many talents. We win because we work together.
  • Alpha Mentality - Grit. Excellence. Relentless improvement. We run toward challenges, not away from them.

These values fuel our teams - from our executive leaders to our field crews - and you'll be expected to champion them daily.
What You'll Take Ownership Of
As a Heavy Civil Project Manager, you are the operational driver of your projects - steering performance, cost, schedule, safety, and client confidence from the first estimate to the final closeout. Responsibilities include (but definitely aren't limited to):
Run the Project - End to End
  • Lead and manage all project activities from bid to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks are met.
  • Own the project P&L and deliver results you're proud to put the Alpha name on.

Build Accurate Costs & Bulletproof Plans
  • Prepare, review, and approve estimates, subcontracts, POs, and change orders.
  • Monitor and adjust budgets proactively to maintain margin integrity.

Keep the Schedule Tight and the Crew Aligned
  • Create and maintain project schedules that keep superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors coordinated and accountable.
  • Adapt quickly when the unexpected shows up - because it always does.

Champion Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all work meets safety standards, legal requirements, and spec-level quality.
  • Conduct inspections and maintain documentation that keeps the project airtight.

Communicate Like a Pro
  • Keep clients, stakeholders, and internal teams informed with clarity and confidence.
  • Address issues head-on and maintain strong relationships through every phase.

Lead the Team the Alpha Way
  • Mentor and guide project team members, supporting performance, unity, and accountability.
  • Step in to resolve operational challenges and make decisions that keep the site moving.

What You Bring to the Team
Experience & Education
  • 2-3+ years in heavy civil construction or project management.
  • Associate degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with project accounting software; ACI certification a plus.

Skills & Mindset
  • Strong leadership and organization - you know how to run a site and a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Adobe, and construction management tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, risk management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects without dropping any balls.

Most importantly, you embody:
  • Lead With Heart - You elevate people, not egos.
  • Strength in Unity - You build trusted crews and collaborative relationships.
  • Alpha Mentality - You own outcomes and push for excellence on every line item.

Why Alpha?
At Alpha Inc., we're not just building infrastructure - we're building Hawai'i's future with intention, innovation, and integrity. Joining Alpha Inc. means joining a company that:
  • Delivers high-impact projects that benefit local communities.
  • Invests in your growth, your crew's success, and your long-term development.
  • Lives its values - on the jobsite, in the office, and across the islands.

We're not just building infrastructure. We're building legacy.
Benefits & Perks
Alpha Inc. offers a competitive benefits package designed to support you and your family, including:
  • 100% company-paid Medical/Dental/Vision (family coverage)
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) (vacation, personal, and sick time) that increases with tenure
  • Paid holidays
  • Weekly pay
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan: Eligible after 1 month of service (age 18+), with a Safe Harbor match (100% on the first 3%, 50% on the next 2%) with immediate vesting.
  • Life & AD&D insurance (company-paid, with family coverage)
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) (24/7 confidential support)
  • Tuition reimbursement (up to $500/year)
  • Company-provided equipment (role dependent)
  • Additional perks (Aflac supplemental coverage + employee discounts)
  • Employee Ambassador Program: A dedicated, real-human support resource to help you navigate life's challenges-personal or professional-by connecting you to guidance, resources, and solutions when you need them most.

Benefits eligibility may vary based on role and employment status.

  • Successful completion of a background check conducted after a conditional offer; any prior issues will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis consistent with Hawai'i and federal law.
  • Passing a drug test (for both full-time and part-time hires) conducted in line with Hawai'i statutory requirements.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; we are unable to sponsor employment visas. Employment eligibility will be verified upon hire.
