Seasonal and Part-Time Commercial Mover Helpers
Location: Commack, NY and New York City-area job sites
Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour; higher pay may be offered based on commercial moving experience
Job Type: Seasonal and Part-Time
Interview Requirement
On-site interviews at our Commack office are preferred.
Candidates who are unable to interview in person must be available to participate in a virtual interview through Microsoft Teams.

Liberty Moving & Storage is hiring dependable, hardworking Commercial Mover Helpers. This position primarily involves commercial moving projects, including offices, businesses, warehouses, and other professional facilities. There is little to no household moving.
We provide on-the-job training, NYS Sick Leave, and opportunities for growth. Candidates with commercial moving experience may qualify for a higher starting rate.
Responsibilities

  • Load and unload office furniture, equipment, files, supplies, and other commercial items
  • Move desks, chairs, filing cabinets, shelving, conference tables, and office equipment
  • Assist with office relocations, warehouse moves, and commercial installation projects
  • Safely pack, wrap, protect, and transport clients' property
  • Use dollies, hand trucks, moving pads, straps, and other moving equipment
  • Navigate stairs, elevators, loading docks, hallways, and active job sites
  • Follow instructions from drivers, crew leaders, supervisors, and project managers
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous service at client locations
  • Keep trucks, equipment, and work areas clean and organized

Schedule and Job Locations
Commercial moving schedules vary based on client and operational needs. Candidates must be flexible and available for varying start times, extended shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Depending on the assignment, you may be required to:

  • Report to our Commack facility and travel to the job site with a company driver; or
  • Meet the moving crew directly at a job site in New York City or the surrounding areas

Daily hours, start times, and job locations may vary.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including speaking, reading, and understanding work and safety instructions
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift
  • Ability to safely lift and carry heavy office furniture, boxes, and equipment
  • Dependable transportation to the assigned meeting location
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Professional attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules and locations
  • Experience using dollies or moving office furniture, equipment, or machinery is a plus but not required
