Administrative Assistant – Government Affairs
Honolulu, HI | Full-Time | $24-$27/hour | Direct Hire
Bishop & Company is seeking a highly organized and team-oriented Administrative Assistant to support a busy Government Affairs team in Honolulu. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with deadlines, and can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
The successful candidate will provide administrative and clerical support to the Government Affairs team, assisting with legislative tracking, scheduling, document preparation, and coordination of key activities during the legislative session and throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare testimony templates and assist with testimony submissions
  • Generate and maintain bill tracking reports using legislative databases
  • Monitor legislative hearing notices and maintain calendars
  • Provide scheduling and administrative support as needed
  • Assist with meeting coordination and preparation
  • Draft and prepare correspondence and other documents
  • Maintain files, records, and related documentation
  • Perform general clerical and administrative duties
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of clients and team members
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and document formatting
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and other office productivity software
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work occasional extended hours, including weekends during peak legislative periods
  • Experience working with the Hawaii State Legislature is preferred, but not required

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Hours: Full-Time
  • Pay Rate: $24-$27 per hour, depending on experience
  • Additional Hours: Potential for overtime and weekend work from January through May and as needed
