We're actively searching for our next Human Resources Manager to manage the Human Resources department at our distribution center in Rensselaer, IN. This key leadership role at this facility must be able to strategically lead, manage, facilitate, connect, and build relationships with our personnel and the surrounding community. You will manage a small team, lead Human Resources for approximately 260 employees, and be a strategic partner for the Plant Director and Corporate HR team.
Qualified candidates must be able to work an on-site schedule at our Rensselaer, IN facility
Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead HR support at a large distribution center.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing employee relations practices and strategies, including the following: employee engagement, wage and salary administration, selection and staffing, orientation and training, organizational development, performance management succession planning and conflict resolution.
  • Influence, coach and provide guidance to the plant leadership team and employees regarding HR practices, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset that understands the organization's goals and strategies; can effectively translate this direction into strategic and operational people practices.
  • Partner with Operations leadership and other key stakeholders to drive HR and operational strategies.
  • Responsible for leading investigations and proposing any related corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for the entire site.
  • Lead HR-related projects and initiatives both within the site and the broader HR Organization.
  • Manage a team of one HR professional.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of progressive human resources experience
  • 2+ years of human resources management experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Prior experience working in a distribution center environment
  • Human Resources certifications are ideal (i.e. SCP - Senior Certified Professional)
  • Master's degree in HR-related discipline
  • Excellent knowledge of Human Resources practices; working knowledge of HR related laws and regulations
  • Possess knowledge of management; the principles, practices, and procedures of Human Resources Management
  • Strong communication skills, problem solving skills, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and direct the work of others
  • Experience conducting employment related investigations
  • Solid analytical skills and ability to understand the business context and strategy
  • Ability to effectively work on multiple assignments, while responding to frequent interruptions and changing priorities
