We're looking for a Meat Manager with strong retail grocery experience who is passionate about great service, fresh foods, and leading a highperforming team.

This position supports stores throughout the Northshore Massachusetts market and may be assigned to any Shaw's location within the region based on business needs.

This position offers the chance to work in a fastpaced, dynamic grocery store environment that's constantly evolving. 
 

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations of the Meat Department, ensuring high standards for product quality, freshness, cutting, merchandising, and food safety.
  • Supervise, train, and coach a team of Meat Cutters, Butchers, and Meat Clerks to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Achieve department goals in sales, gross profit, labor, shrink, and inventory accuracy.
  • Perform handson meat cutting, trimming, wrapping, and stocking as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, HACCP standards, and all food safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Build strong customer relationships by delivering friendly, knowledgeable assistance at the service counter.
  • Manage scheduling, task delegation, and staffing for a team of 2-20 associates.
  • Use store systems to manage ordering, production planning, and reporting.
  • Serve as ManageronDuty when assigned. 

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • Soft skills: Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and the ability to motivate teams, solve problems, and maintain a positive, professional presence.
  • Competencies: Experience in retail meat or grocery department management with the ability to multitask, manage priorities, and oversee merchandising, inventory, and production planning.
  • Knowledge: Experience in retail meat or grocery department management with the ability to multitask, manage priorities, and oversee merchandising, inventory, and production planning. 
  • Abilities: Capable of working in cold environments, lifting and handling products, performing repetitive tasks, and effectively leading a team.
  • Educational requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.
  • Travel requirements: May require occasional travel for training
  • Other requirements: Ability to work a full-time retail schedule including weekends, willingness to relocate if needed, and commitment to food safety and compliance.
