Job description

Join the team behind the scenes at one of the Florida Keys' most iconic luxury resorts. Cheeca Lodge & Spa is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Clerk to support the day-to-day financial operations of our Accounting Department.
This full-time position plays a vital role in general cashiering, group commission processing, and maintaining accurate records for Club Members and Owners. If you are organized, discreet, and enjoy working in a fast-paced hospitality environment, we'd love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle daily cashiering duties, including cash collection, verification, and deposits from resort outlets.
  • Maintain over/short logs and prepare reports for leadership review.
  • Issue, audit, and reconcile house banks in accordance with internal controls.
  • Process change orders and maintain adequate cash levels for resort operations.
  • Oversee petty cash reimbursements, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Process group commissions based on contract terms and ensure timely, accurate payments.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly statements for Club Members and Owners; respond to inquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Assist with month-end journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by maintaining clean, accurate records.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Finance.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting coursework or degree preferred.
  • 1+ year of hotel accounting or cashiering experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive financial data with discretion and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with general accounting principles and hospitality operations is a plus.

  • Full-time, hourly position.
  • Flexibility required to support business needs, especially during month-end close or audits.
