WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • The Program Manager serves as the primary point of contact for assigned wire harness programs and is responsible for managing programs throughout their complete life cycle—from initial customer requirements and program launch through engineering development, prototype builds, production launch, and ongoing program support. This role brings together customer needs, technical requirements, operational execution, financial performance, quality, and delivery to ensure programs are completed on time, within budget, at or above targeted margins, and in alignment with customer expectations. You will:


  • Serve as the primary program coordinator for assigned production programs, maintaining alignment with schedules, milestones, internal requirements, and customer commitments.
  • Partner with Sales, Engineering, customers, and operational leadership to understand and manage program scope, requirements, deliverables, timing, commercial commitments, production constraints, and changes.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate integrated production plans addressing schedules, milestones, labor, capacity, parts and materials, tooling, engineering deliverables, quality requirements, risks, dependencies, and customer commitments.
  • Coordinate production readiness reviews before work begins to confirm approved documentation, materials, tooling, labor, equipment, quality requirements, and other necessary resources are available or supported by an approved recovery plan.
  • Actively monitor production progress, labor availability, material status, procurement activity, engineering support, quality actions, and other schedule-critical requirements.
  • Identify constraints early and coordinate corrective, contingency, or recovery actions before they negatively affect delivery.
  • Lead recurring production planning and program status meetings with a focus on decisions, priorities, accountability, and execution.
  • Establish clear priorities, confirm resource and material readiness, assign accountable owners, document decisions and action items, and follow through to resolution.
  • Coordinate across Engineering, Production, Material Control, Procurement, Planning, Quality, Sales, and other departments to keep program requirements and customer commitments aligned.
  • Lead through influence by creating shared priorities, resolving cross-functional conflicts, driving accountability, and gaining cooperation from individuals and leaders who may not report directly to the position.
  • Apply disciplined problem-solving to identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, recommend timely solutions, and coordinate resolution of schedule, labor, material, quality, capacity, and workflow challenges.
  • Monitor program performance across schedule, cost, margin, quality, material availability, risks, open issues, scope changes, and customer commitments.
  • Track budget variances, labor utilization, material costs, rework, and margin risks.
  • Identify and coordinate opportunities to improve profitability without compromising safety, quality, delivery, or customer commitments.
  • Escalate significant program concerns with clear assessments of business and customer impact, recommended actions, and recovery plans.
  • Provide accurate forecasts, performance metrics, schedule status, financial information, risks, and recovery plans to customers, the Director of Development and Innovation, and company leadership.
  • Evaluate proposed program changes for their impact on scope, cost, schedule, labor, materials, capacity, quality, and margin.
  • Ensure program changes are properly documented, communicated, evaluated, and approved before implementation.
  • Maintain active risk and issue management processes and drive mitigation activities through completion.
  • Use disciplined planning, defined deadlines, focused meetings, controlled work-in-process, and timely decision-making to minimize unnecessary task expansion, ineffective late-stage staffing, excessive decision complexity, and execution delays.
  • Maintain complete and accurate program records, including schedules, meeting minutes, action logs, risk registers, change documentation, customer communications, forecasts, and performance data.
  • Coordinate program closeout, including completion of deliverables, documentation and data archiving, and lessons learned.
  • Identify opportunities to improve future program execution, cost, quality, delivery, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen production planning, operational execution, and the customer experience.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by department management.


 

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related technical or business field preferred; an equivalent combination of education, experience, and relevant certifications may be considered.
    • PMP or another recognized project/program management certification desired.
    • 5+ years of project, program, or manufacturing management experience preferred.
    • Aerospace manufacturing, wire harness, electrical assembly, or related industry experience are strongly preferred.
    • Military leadership experience highly desired.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple complex programs throughout the program life cycle while balancing schedule, cost, margin, quality, risk, resources, and customer expectations.
    • Strong production planning skills with the ability to coordinate labor, materials, capacity, engineering deliverables, tooling, quality requirements, and schedule dependencies.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify constraints early, solve complex operational problems, and develop practical mitigation and recovery plans.
    • Strong financial and business acumen with experience monitoring budgets, labor utilization, material costs, variances, rework, and program margins.
    • Proven ability to lead through influence, establish accountability, resolve cross-functional challenges, and drive results without direct supervisory authority.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, risk management, and change management capabilities.
    • Excellent planning, organization, prioritization, communication, negotiation, facilitation, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, senior leadership, technical teams, and operational stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive production environment.
    • Proficiency with program/project management tools and ERP/MRP systems.
    • Experience with aerospace customers, regulatory requirements, wire harness manufacturing, electrical systems, or transport-category aircraft preferred.
    • Ability to travel as required.
    • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
    • Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug testing and any applicable company/FAA Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program that may be required.
    • Must be able to pass required background checks, including a 10-year TSA check if airport access or badging is required.
