OVERVIEW
The Reliability Engineer will provide engineering support to the Maintenance & Engineering Department to help improve equipment reliability, operating efficiency, safety and service quality to the refinery.
 


DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Improve the reliability of refinery & powerhouse equipment through the development and implementation of improved preventive maintenance activities.
  • Oversee the predictive maintenance program.
  • Plan and direct the development, execution, and completion of maintenance projects including concept development, detailed engineering design, scheduling, procurement and construction.
  • Lead the Preventative Checklist program to minimize refinery down time due to equipment failure and assist in control of M&R budget
  • Trouble shooting problems, diagnosing and recommending repairs, develop repair scopes, create design and fabrication drawings.
  • Maintain and update equipment files and records. Set up and order spare parts.
  • Ability to work with various members of engineering, maintenance and health & safety.
  • Help Maintain performance standards for maintenance department and monitors efficiency, while maintaining reliability and safety standards.
  • Identify issues and implement improvement plans and initiatives to achieve department and plant goals.
  • Develop and recommend capitol and engineering projects to support improvement initiatives.
  • Plan future maintenance work, to reduce potential delays and maximize maintenance workforce efficiency.
  • Develop work plans based upon work request and field inspections.
  • Work plans are to indicate scope of what work is to be done and identify critical resources required.
  • Verifies availability of parts, materials, and special tools required for execution before scheduling.
  • Optimizes SAP Plant Maintenance systems
  • Monitor effectiveness of the preventive and predictive maintenance program to minimize plant breakdowns.
  • Properly prepare and distribute meaningful control reports


WORK EXPERIENCES

  • A minimum of three years of experience in an industrial environment in maintenance and engineering.
  • Experience required with the following equipment: belt conveyors, screw conveyors, bucket elevators and cranes.  
  • Process equipment; evaporators, condensers, heat exchangers, piping, pumps, motors, rotary dryers, kilns and vacuum pans.
  • Powerhouse equipment- boilers, steam turbines and air compressors
  • Experience with the development and design of process and instrument diagrams. 
  • Basic electrical, instrumentation and process control experience.
  • Planning/Scheduling experience within a manufacturing facility
  • Have adequate trade knowledge to estimate labor hours, materials, and visualize the job to be performed
     

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited college and/or university OR a minimum of ten years of maintenance technician experience in an industrial setting or equivalent military training.

  • This role will indirectly provide project-related leadership, direction and guidance as part of the general scope of work to internal stakeholders.

SALARY PAY RANGE: $73,500 - $136,500 plus bonus

  • The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience. 
  • Benefits include healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs) available the first of the month following 30 days of employment, 401(k) with match, life insurance, AD&D, short-term disability, vacation, holiday and sick time.
