Description

Evaluate as an Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer in Graphic Packaging International, in Macon Paper Mill, your primary objective is to optimize and maintain electrical systems and instrumentation used in the production and operation of the plant. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of electrical equipment, troubleshooting electrical issues, and implementing preventive maintenance measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing production equipment and layout to engineer design improvements enhancing productivity, cost efficiency, reliability, and safety. Can work an industrial setting with minimal guidance.
  • Support optimization of manufacturing processes, including process control, set-up, automation, and new equipment selections.
  • Support operational improvement and strategic growth plans.
  • Consult and lead with internal and external teams as needed.
  • Interface, coordinate, and support internal mill customers (operations and reliability), outside contractors, estimates costs, tracks proposals and manages projects execution to scope.
  • Provides complex technical consultation to plant management and maintenance groups pertaining to installation, trouble shooting, process control and repair of existing equipment.
  • Coordinates with the internal EH&S resources to implement equipment safety standards and procedures.
  • Support equipment safety upgrades as needed in the plant network. Supports commitment-based safety.
  • Support maintenance activities during mill/department outages. Planning and execution of small projects.
  • Manage design and procurement of special or unique repair parts, materials, and services.
  • Inspect electrical distribution systems and process equipment for defects and repairs needs and implement cost-effective solutions to mitigate.
  • Participate with multi-disciplined teams in Root Cause Problem Solving activities.
  • Support Continuous Improvement process through project development and technical support for projects.
  • Work with outside contractors on non-capital projects.

Required Skills

  • Strong background in project planning, prioritization, and implementation.
  • Leading and developing large & small projects
  • Electromechanical trouble shooting experience
  • Strong experience with developing detailed plans to improve plant reliability, robustness, and profitability
  • Strong skill in interpersonal relationships as needed to maintain successful relationships with internal and external customers and coworkers
  • Detailed experience with machine repairs, rebuilds and maintenance plans
  • Good communication skills for creating, delivering, and selling ideas or messages
  • Good knowledge of OSHA, regulatory compliance, and industrial safety practices
  • Experience with CMMS such as SAP, PM module.
  • Computer skills in MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Extensive experience with design and analysis of power and control circuits
  • Extensive experience motor controls, electrical protection
  • Solid experience as is relates to mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical distribution, 3-phase power systems, instrumentation, and process control systems

Required Experience

  • B.S. Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology Engineering required.
  • 5-7 years minimum in manufacturing environment with practical expertise in electrical engineering.
